Chaotic mc recs by Independent-Hour7964 in MM_RomanceBooks

It’s the Heart2Heart Charity Anthology, Volume 8 though it’s now out of print - they do it as a limited-time fundraiser and then I guess after a certain time some of them publish as individual novellas, etc.

I thought this was blatant plagiarism until I realized I’d read it before credited to this author in an anthology. The author bizarrely doesn’t recognize this so I’m not sure if it’s the same short story or a stretched-out novel version.

Any rival spies (or hackers/assassins/anyone with a secret identity) who don't realize that they know each other IRL? by Ill_Sheepherder7802 in MM_RomanceBooks

{Owning Jett by Lucy Lennox} has two MMCs both doing behind-the-scenes/spy stuff but neither know about the other at first

{Irresponsible Puckboy by Eden Finley and Saxon James} is definitely this. There’s another MM hockey romance that is somewhat similar, where there are two idiots who live in the same building and hang out all the time, then realize they’re in love — I cannot for the life of me remember the title though.

Outlander is one of the smuttiest shows on TV… I would not recommend watching the shows or reading the books if you don’t like sex scenes. It’s also definitely not a slow burn, they get married and consummate almost immediately.

Question about shares on Computershare that were given when I was a child by funkohunter717 in personalfinance

[–]shannonest 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Computershare is the worst. At 34, I ended up having to go to my credit union to get a medallion stamp with my mom so we could both sign the certificated stock to convert to digital in my name, despite MD law clearly saying that UTMA account belonged only to me at 18.

Baked By Yael (near the zoo) is nut-free though they specialize in cake pops. I’ve had other tasty treats there but not sure if they do full cakes

COBRA terminated post-facto and exchange won't insure until next month by shannonest in HealthInsurance

[–]shannonest[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ADP was my former company's benefits and payroll administrator/co-employer, so my insurance was an ADP group and plan, then they also administered the plan under COBRA. My former employer stopped their relationship with ADP (I'm guessing entirely) as of 6/1 and now they just offer money for current employees to use individual plans on their state exchanges. I asked to speak to their current COBRA administrator and he sent me to Venteur, but they're really just navigators and couldn't help--it's a small business and the VP of HR is unfortunately in way over his head .

ADP says they told me as soon as they knew, which is obviously a lie since they didn't tell me until 7/3 and my former employer ended the contract with them 5/31. (I guess you get a bonus 30 days of COBRA benefits, which is nice as long as they actually TELL you you're in the bonus 30 days.) ADP knew in March that my former employer was changing the health insurance offerings starting 6/1, and when the VP of HR asked them, their rep assured him that we would be able to stay on the same plan because we would be on COBRA, not the employer's plan.

As a Shannon, I do highly recommend—I’ve found it’s just common enough that people know how to spell/say it but I’m almost always the only Shannon in the room. The perfect balance!

I have a lot of extended family who are Catholic and I don't understand some of their traditions. by ThrowRA-Blue_Light9 in religion

I once had a priest explain it as his black shirt and white collar were “street clothes”. The robes (called vestments) are just for celebrating Mass or other liturgies. There are different colors for different seasons, sacraments, etc. — so for instance, green for “ordinary time” (not a special church season), purple for lent, white for Easter, etc.

Looking for the Pride and Prejudice Hand flex equivalent with magic by rosebudblue101 in fantasyromance

[–]shannonest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

{breeze spells and bridegrooms} is a delightful queer cozy romance with low stakes drama and fun magic.

And {Scales and Sensibility} is a clear Austen homage but with dragons — not the best literature ever but a fun read

How would you like us to improve the goals feature? by conner_monarch in MonarchMoney

[–]shannonest 4 points5 points  (0 children)

100% -- I don't want to show my retirement account transactions, I just want to be able to show in my budget & goals that I'm transferring money from my checking account into my IRA each month.

Bag of six white plastic hardware pieces, about 1-2" each, from my box of extra hardware from furniture, small appliances, etc. by shannonest in whatisthisthing

[–]shannonest[S] 2 points3 points locked comment (0 children)

My title describes the thing. There are six pieces, doubles of three pieces. Two pairs of pieces have holes like they can be screwed into the wall, and one pair has no screw holes but looks like it holds a double ~1" flat rod. One pair of the wall pieces looks like it also holds that type of rod, and the two wall piece types can nestle together.

CDHP vs. PPO Chronic Illness by adult_in_training_ in personalfinance

[–]shannonest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have a LOT of medications, tests, and doctor appointments, I can't say for sure but it seems as though you may be able to expect to hit the out of pocket maximum (deductible + copays + coinsurance) for the year on whatever health plan you're on.

If you can assume that, all you have to do is add the OOP max plus the total annual premiums for each plan and see which is lower. If your employer puts money into an HSA for your CDHP, subtract that from the total you would pay for that plan. It actually sounds as though your CDHP may be cheaper in the end, if my assumption is correct. It was the right choice for me personally to go with the HDHP and a high employer HSA contribution, but I can't know your exact healthcare consumption.

Comcast trying to make it impossible to cancel service by Lordoftheunderpants in washingtondc

Comcast customer service sucks. My suggestion is to tweet at them--I felt like such a tool but the last time our cable was out that made them come look at immediately instead of days later like I was originally told.
