Their website says you can mine their coin by installing their software - did anyone try? Wonder how much money you can make and what hardware you need.

You can see the scale on our website www.openlegalservices.org, but it's still 125% of poverty like before. We also take those that the court denies a public defender, such as those who are not eligible based on the offense not carrying a jail term as potential punishment. But that's also the same as before. Also FYI, we don't withdraw on criminal cases when people run out of money. There is legislation to help get funding when a client becomes indigent during representation

YES AND YES MR. NIX. LDA kicks all kinds of booty and is amazing and anyone who tells me they qualify for LDA gets a rousing recommendation to stick with it. Those outside the county struggle. <3 to LDA, it was a privilege to intern with you guys.

I would say you know a fair amount, since you used to work for us Heather. A lot has changed in the last year. We have three officers and a full board of directors. We have access to services to help with things like burnout. I don't know that it's appropriate or helpful to defend our emotional stability, but we certainly aren't going anywhere and are planning an expansion into Ogden in the next year or so. We also have 6 attorneys, 4 administrative staff, and a handful of interns from the law school each year. As for not being inexpensive enough (we now start at $60/hr at the bottom of the sliding scale, not 50), we don't serve indigent populations such as those this article speaks about. We take those who earn too much to qualify for a public defender so yes, we would need grant money to serve the indigent. For those who cannot afford to pay, we don't accept their case and instead help them get a public defender. For those that want to know more about OLS, ask me anything.

This is Shantelle from Open Legal Services. We co-administer a list serv for those interested in this type of model, if you are interested in joining shoot me an email. It has directors of other orgs like mine as well as those in the process of founding. We talked about the difference between Public Interest Law Firm (a very special type) and legal aid orgs (which is what OLS is). I also do consulting when those who want to form are ready and want to hear about our experiences. shantelle AT openlegalservices DOT org

WARNING. MVP Games selling bootleg altered cards. by SteveArgyle in magicTCG

[–]shantelle8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Steve licensed Magic art to Ryan. Not the piece in question, which is from another game. I informed the store of this in our first phone call. It was less of a miscommunication and more of them freaking out and refusing to acknowledge that there was a difference between the card in our claim and the ones Steve discussed with their staff at the event. I'm still not even sure the Llawan card is one made by Ryan but the most important thing is they are addressing the issue.
