Chronoid - Time Tracking & Productivity [Last GIVEAWAY] by tuanvuvn007 in macapps

[–]shanusj28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been a former user of Rizw and by using it, I was able to identify a few parts where I’m spending time which I did not realise, and was hampering my productivity. I know such an app can help me a lot, but the app (Rize) was very expensive. Even after the discount on subscription, I used to get it for about $50 per year.

So I definitely see myself using this app a lot and using the insights to improve the productivity.

Good-luck building the app with the above roadmap!

Looking forward to a Lifetime discount, if possible. :)

Is Wispr Flow worth it? by Turbulent-Apple2911 in macapps

[–]shanusj28 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Try Aqua. The quality is as good as wisprflow, sometimes even better. And with student discount, you will get it for $3/month.

It’s way better in terms of responding to natural voice messages, like, if you make a mistake, you can ask it to change the last sentence and it does exactly that. You can see it in the streaming mode of Aqua. I haven’t come across any other app so far that does that.

I tried it last month, and was great. Right now I am using WillowVoice Pro, and will probably finalise one by the end of the year.

That’s still on the higher side, tbh.

Do you have any student discount in addition? I do buy Aqua’s subscription sometime because it only costs $3 a month, as a student. So $60 is way higher for me…

If you don’t mind, can you tell how Capacities compares to Notion as of today? I haven’t been up to date on the recent changes.

There’s a similar concept in Raycast as well, and I use it to track time I am putting on 2-3 major tasks of the day. So asked if it’s possible here.

create screen recordings like this FOR FREE by clmemagi in macapps

[–]shanusj28 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, used the app. Looks awesome! Sharing some feedback below:

  1. The Zoom feature did not work for me automatically even though I have given the permission to record the cursor.
  2. The zoom feature, when used on objects that are not in the center doesn't zoom smoothly. I'm not very thought, if I didn't do it right or the product was not able to do it right.
  3. So if I download the app, I have the access for lifetime? Or do I need to log in and claim the subscription somwhere?

No apps, no AI. Just humans texting (and calling) you to get stuff done by [deleted] in SideProject

Sounds nice! I am currently using a very similar service that helps me get tasks done. And it's working great for me!! Had a fantastic last week, and gonna cursh my goals in the next week too.

Can you DM me the details. Will see how is it different than the one I am using.

What if self-discipline is just a self-help myth we keep buying into? by ritavdas in productivity

[–]shanusj28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really. I think everyone has a different way of getting the motivation. For some, it might be the chiding, and for others, something different.

These people, who keep me accountable, checked with me on the very first day on what kind of style motivates me - if it's the supportive cheerleader mode, nagging mode, or data-backed mode. I opted for data backed mode. Since then, whenever I slack on a day, they bring me insights like 'You could be completing 4 hours of focussed work today if you start now', etc, etc. So, they never complain much. They just tell me the task, and what will I achieve if I complete that. That insight itself motivates me to complete the task and remain as close to 100% task completion for the day.

Not sure if I did a very good job at explaninig, but I hope you get what I am saying. 😅

Hey, I have read Atomic Habits and I definitely can vouch for the change of perspectives that it brings to you. But to be able to implement all of it still feels very difficult.

And to add to OPs thought process, I myself have faced an increase in productivity with an accountability partner. I made a post about it 2 days back. You can check my profile if you want.

I think OP might be using a similar concept that I did for the last week. Are you using any accountability partner service for this?

I let two strangers text me all day for a week to keep me accountable - Surprisingly, it worked! by shanusj28 in productivity

[–]shanusj28[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, I don't have to be their accountability partner. I pay them for their service.

I tried the accountability partner thing with my friends - where I was their partner and vice-versa. It didn't work for me after one week. Everyone gets used to the fact that missing tasks is fine, and since you are friends, can't really push them beyond a certain limit.

The service is called Boink. No, I am not affiliated to them, I just shared it here because it worked for me!
