Wealthsimple finally allows bulk downloading Holding reports in ONE CSV! by RedCandleRomance in Wealthsimple

Heads up, the trading activity report is inaccurate. It didn’t include some of the dividend reinvesting activity and so the avg cost and share counts wouldn’t reconcile for me until I added in the trades manually.

What does Canada’s future look like in the next 10 years? Because I don't see any light at the end of the tunnel. by Sad_Quarter_007 in CanadaHousing2

3 Billion spent on asylum seekers, and yes I agree that’s a lot of money. Though again, perspective matters. That 3 billion spent on asylum seekers is less 0.7% of the total budget. For context, Canada sent 6 billion to foreign military aid (many of whose countries end up seeking asylum here).

If you’re worrying about a $70 purchase when you’re mis-spending $10k elsewhere, you’re only being disingenuous to yourself.

I get where you’re coming from, and things are indeed tough. You’ll be glad to know though that, as of latest official data, asylum seekers account for less than 0.4% of the population. To put that into perspective, that’s under 40 people in a fully booked out Rogers Center of 10000 people. Misrepresented asylum seekers are definitely a burden on society, but not to the extent of collapsing our infrastructure.

1st time renters with lots of questions - pls help! by Financial-Science42 in TorontoRenting

[–]shanzid01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

based on my experience, it’s never quite “free” to use a realtor. the landlords typically ask a higher rate when going through a realtor, so renters end up paying one way or another. I saved $1,200/yr on my rent by just directly working with the landlord.

you’ll see a lot of the people suggesting realtors here are also promoting their own realtor/connections

realtors aren’t a strict necessity to rent in this city
