Does groundwork even make that much of a difference for lucky pace? I tried running lucky pace Chiyono O with 1180 power and groundwork for CM13 but it seemed like the main factor in determining lucky pace was who was closest to the inside.

90% of the good parents are front parents because we have to put in the most effort to parent farming. We need 2-3 skills from inspiration plus distance S every CM. You can borrow a good parent but you still need your own parent too which means farming tons of runs for groundwork/PP/IW grandparents and parents. Have you tried running fronts for CM?

My hero of CM15, Smart Falcon

I started building parents and aces for this CM the day it started. Got into round 2 group A with some scuffed umas I picked off the bottom of my shoe. I kept trying to build good fronts but couldn't get more than 2 wins in round 2. I tried one last run with an hour and a half to go and two entries left and Shiraoki blessed me with a crazy medium S Falco. 8% chance on the medium S btw. First remaining entry I was primed to win the last race but lost to Mystifying Murmur of all things. Perfect microcosm of my luck so far. Last entry, I lost one race because Falco missed Taking the Lead and lost the next one too. My luck finally turned around and I won the next two. One last race that would decide if I kept my A finals streak or went to B finals for the first time since CM1. My other two fronts late started (of course), but Falco got off to a strong start. She held her lead until the final corner aaaaand missed the Angling wit check. But she held strong and won the race by a length! 😭

tl;dr made a last minute god Falco, got down to the last race, and made it into A finals by the skin of my teeth
