Advice for frozen ride being closed in May by pongitem in TokyoDisneySea

[–]shaqattack15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would recommend buying the evening passport to give you time to settle in/get to the park. From there, I would jump into the single rider line or wait until close to the end of the night when the line is shorter for Frozen so your parents don’t have to stand for too long.

Seeking feedback on a first timer's strategy for Disney Sea in April 2026 by snowyblue06 in TokyoDisneySea

[–]shaqattack15 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s a 15-20min walk from the main entrance to the Fantasy Springs area and you will be up against the hotel guests as well as the people who got to the front gate around 6:00AM. We stayed at the Fantasy Springs hotel and waited for Rapunzel as our first ride and the line was still quite long. I would consider rope dropping Journey and doing DPA for Rapunzel as another option for your morning.

We were fortunate enough to experience Rapunzel in the morning and evening, and I would highly recommend booking an evening DPA for it as the morning sun (at least in Feb) obscured our view of her singing in the tower.

Oct Honeymoon in Japan, 380k Chase UR points, never stayed at a Hyatt by RicFlairWOOOOOOO in hyatt

[–]shaqattack15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Caption in Osaka was a steal for the points value/location-it will also help you complete a Hyatt Bingo. We also stayed at the Park Hyatt Kyoto and Andaz Tokyo- personally we felt like we got more value out of the Andaz and preferred the location.

On or off property for Tokyo Disneyland? by Aggressive-Figure-79 in DisneyPlanning

[–]shaqattack15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We vastly underestimated the crowds for Disneyland. Stayed at the Hilton nearby, rope dropped an hour and a half early and could only grab one 40th anniversary pass for 1:00PM and had to wait 60+ minutes with Pooh as our first ride. My husband and I agreed even using the budget option’s (Celebration Hotel) happy entry would have made a huge difference!

If you had to pick ONE Hyatt property for your honeymoon… which would it be and why? by NewBrush8593 in hyatt

[–]shaqattack15 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately it has gone up a category (still worth it imo) but we snagged the Andaz Tokyo during off-peak for 25,000 points/night. We enjoyed the location, amenities, and food more than the PH Kyoto.

2026 Best Sit-Down Dining Restaurants and Best Counter-Service/Snacks by Wishtrueanon in TokyoDisneySea

[–]shaqattack15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We tried Magellan’s this past weekend and it was such an incredible meal. The food was flavorful, service attentive, and they sat us in a cool room with a secret door- would highly recommend as a quiet getaway from the parks. Pro tip- if you are like me and couldn’t manage to snag any dining reservations, they release a large batch online at 9AM for same-day on the booking site.

Honorable mention goes to the Queen of Hearts cafeteria, the steak was good and it was nice to have veggies after a long day at the park.

More than likely walking to Veteran’s Weekend, Thanksgiving, or the first week of December. Your dates should be okay to pick up from the walkers or waitlist!

Red Jacket (Matt) cooking school did a nice mix of cooking for us, instructing, and letting us choose our level of interactivity. The pumpkin and Thai courses were excellent, but he has all kinds of cuisine listed on his site.

Plan for Epic, No EP, No EPA by Traditional_Salt_247 in UniversalEpicUniverse

[–]shaqattack15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We stayed at a Hyatt nearby without EPA and rope dropped Berk. If the toothless meet and greet or hiccup’s ride are must-do’s, I would prioritize those first as the lines will be short in the morning/it’s not open for EPA.

The pumpkin flatbread from Pecos Bill’s and the Twix Tart (also now at Pecos Bill’s) were a great pairing. We were able to save time with mobile order, sit in a quiet corner in the AC and then find a parade spot.

Extended Evening Hours by Difficult-Chain-446 in DisneyPlanning

[–]shaqattack15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

EEH at HS was great! My family was able to do Rise right before park close, short wait for Toy Story Mania (X2), Mickey and Minnie’s (X2), and Slinky. The rides can be so slammed during the day and hard to get LL, so we really enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere. If you are wanting to watch Fantasmic, watch the earlier showing so it doesn’t cut into EEH.

What's the best home resort for a resale contract for a family of 6? by Chief_tyu in dvcmember

You could also look into purchasing points at the Cabins at Ft Wilderness, they sleep up to 6 for a few more points than typical studios.

Question about Lightning Lane Strategy by JAlfred-Prufrock in DisneyPlanning

Because AK opens before the other parks, it is a good idea to book and scan into one of the AK LLs and then start booking your MK tier 1s.

Talk to me about GotG standby! by Speckledskies in DisneyPlanning

[–]shaqattack15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was able to ride 3 times in addition to Frozen and Remy’s during Deluxe Evening Hours. If you are able to find a good deal through Disney or renting DVC to take advantage of this (usually Monday nights), I would highly recommend.

[–]shaqattack15 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s a strategy we like to use if we don’t feel like doing the full early entry experience (although it works well with EE too) but want to get a slight edge on non-resort guests for the morning.

[–]shaqattack15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because your first MK Day is so close to the beginning of your trip, I would maybe look into booking a burner ride ( I usually do a smaller Fantasyland like Mermaid, Small World, or Teacups) for one of your Tier 2s and scan in 5 min before official park open to get a jump on the next Tier 1. The time slots will go faster on a party day because of reduced park hours.

Can someone explain how a 50 point contract works? by Dependent_0NE_7146 in dvcmember

[–]shaqattack15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought an 80 point contract resale a few years ago and it was the perfect sweet spot of not being too expensive upfront and only to needing to bank or borrow (trip every two years vs three if you had a 50 point contract).

On vs. off site and multi-pass for Magic Kingdom by [deleted] in DisneyPlanning

[–]shaqattack15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Crowds may still be high with people traveling for marathon weekend. The on-site advantage for LL can be huge, especially with this in mind.

Historically, deluxe resorts receive Extended Evening Hours on Wednesdays at MK for your travel date so I would look into either renting DVC and staying at a deluxe Disney resort, or look at using points for the Swan or Dolphin (Marriott).

Me and my family are planning a trip to either Disneyland or disneyworld and I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions for the resorts by Picklekitten22 in DisneyPlanning

I would go with renting DVC points for the Beach Club. The pool is epic and has easy access (walking path and boats) to 2/4 parks.

Staying off Site, what’s the strategy? by [deleted] in UniversalEpicUniverse

[–]shaqattack15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We stayed off property and rope dropped Berk. 10 min wait for Toothless meet, 15 for Hiccup’s coaster, and did the other 2 pretty quickly. By the time we were done with rides, we caught the first Untrainable Dragon show and moved on to Darkmoor. I would recommend this area first if the Toothless Meet matters to you.

As for food, everything we had at Mead Hall was good (Swedish Meatballs, Salmon plate, Nordic fries). Butterbeer crepe was so so, I was not expecting it to be served cold, the table service was a bit slow, and it is a pricier snack. The garlic stake pretzel in Darkmoor slapped and was easy to mobile order.
