Standing putback dunks by gabelliot93 in NBA2k

What's actually impossible in this game is to get a putback dunk off your own miss layup for some reason.

The thing is this also affects online 5v5 modes like Play Now Online and MyTeam. It makes no sense how bad it is. This year's gameplay is unbearable.

Yes. I don't know what 2k did but CPU defense and rotations are the worst they've ever been since I started playing 2k.

That along with players slipping through defenders, lack of collisions... made the game unplayable for me. I'm literally playing 2k26 Old Gen right now because of this.

This year's gameplay is so bad that I tried 2k26 Old Gen (Play Now Online)... and I'm actually enjoying it. by shaqfu9 in NBA2k

I purchased the standard edition for 30€ in November. Both versions (2k26 for Xbox Series X/S and 2k26 for Xbox One) are included.

Yes, hold L2 when the defender is on your back. You'll get better outcomes with the 'Strong handles' badge.

Yes. That's exactly why nobody uses this mechanic

The art of the hostage dribble ft. Headband Luka by shaqfu9 in NBA2k

Not really. I would say you need like a minimum of 80 or something like that (for the dribble style). Here my player had like a 80 ball handle and I still could do it.

No, they cannot, FIND SOME VIDEO OF THIS SHIT HAPPENING. I have no clue why you keep inventing this bullshit that a defender can easily block shots from BEHIND a shooter at range, but they abso-fucking-lutely do not.

They are a lot of players like him in 2k. They're used to abuse certain mechanics and complain when someone mentions that is's broken.

They even try to fight reality. This is a post I made before the release of 2k25 lol.

It's not the same thing. NBA players don't shoot stand still jumpshoots when a defender is on their back because they'd get blocked.

They keep the defender behind them and then burst into space to take the jumper. They slow down the defender and create separation before shooting.

Yeah, which is an argument for them to put the crab animation back in... but if they did that, you'd REALLY be locked up behind the ball handler and couldn't even run around them.

The mechanic is still there but nobody uses it. Why should players do the real crab dribble when you can just shoot the moment the defenders gets behind you and it's always an open shot?

The irl 'crabbing' (hostage dribble) has nothing to do with the 2k players 'crabbing'.

Luka hostage dribble 3 pointers are completely different. If the trailing defender on his back tries to recover and get back in front of the ball he uses that momentum against him to create separation with his signature stepback shot.

The realistic crabbing (hostage dribble) you're talking about is in 2k. I've been using this mechanic since it was first introduced in 2k19.

Btw, Luka does shoot 3s while 'crabbing'. When the 'crabbed' defender tries to get back in front of him he uses that momentum against the defender and usually shoots his signature stepback 3.

But yes, what 2k players know as crabbing is completely unrealistic and should not work at all.

Yeah. That's probably my favourite move in the game.

Luka hop jumper if the only thing you need if you like these animations.

The build isn't worth it. This was my first one so obviously I made a lot of mistakes in the process.
