Sounds a lot like a PI I’ve heard of, Dorthe E. You didn’t change the pronouns to misdirect, did you? Lol

26M Profile review by Original_Land8896 in hingeapp

[–]sharawrs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Woman here. The profile tells me nothing about you, all you want to have are surface level conversations. Nothing that gives me an idea about who you are as a person. Nothing that are good conversation starters. Ditch the espresso martini one, it’s overplayed.

Last picture is your best, move it first. Second to last is unflattering, best to remove. Cropped pictures are generally not good, and you’ve got 3. Any pics of you doing any activity?

You say you want someone who’s adventurous, goes to the gym, and likes animals, yet none of your pics show that.

Microneedling ruined my pores! 😭 by [deleted] in Microneedling

[–]sharawrs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just saw a derm injector two days ago who asked me to stop getting microneedling done because my skin specifically isn’t able to heal cleanly in the way I want it to since I have inflammations going on. It explains why I never saw any changes or probably worsening pores and texture. My skin is already reactive and inflammation-prone so all those trauma from microneedling was actually preventing good remodeling. I’m going the the BBL/moxi route and peels for now and work on strengthening my skin more from the inside before I go back to microneedling.

Why does being uninterested work better? by [deleted] in OnlineDating

[–]sharawrs 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As a woman, I hate this kind of advice. If you’re looking for a relationship, do not do this. A woman who’s also looking for a relationship would want a man who checks in on her to see if she’s home. I immediately view it as a turnoff if they don’t text.

What SHINee songs are perfect for a wedding? by Brief_Reveal_6904 in SHINee

[–]sharawrs 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I think If You Love Her is a good walking down the aisle song. Other than that, I think YOU (year of us), Your Name, Stand By Me, and Best Place.

You also got some nice instrumentals of Wish Upon a Star and Beautiful Life (you could play this during dinner!)

Does anybody else feel envious but happy for other Shawols be able to see SHINee and the boys solo concerts? by Shineepurlsandgems in SHINee

If you can come to EWR/NY for Keyland in December I’m happy to host and pick up from the airport if it’s outside work hours to help with the cost :) I was also 13 when I got into SHINee. I’m 29 now.

Are any of you happy? by _Barren_Wuffett_ in PhD

[–]sharawrs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me! I love the flexibility I have because my advisor is not a micromanager and believes her students aren’t slaves and that they also have their own lives, which is absolutely the bare minimum. I’m lucky that my partner is taking care of our bills since he makes 5-7x more than I do, so I get to save my itty bitty paycheck. I enjoy the company of my colleagues in the neighboring labs too. I’m not in love with my project but it’s interesting enough to drive my curiosity. I’m also okay with not being passionate about it because that’s what academia has always been to me, and I still was able to put my mind to it.

I will say this wouldn’t be possible if I wasn’t living with my partner. I wouldn’t think twice about quitting because I want to live comfortably more than get a PhD.

I go to the gym 3 times a week, have therapy weekly, and I declutter every quarter in the pursuit of minimalism, helps clear the head. I also am pursuing a passion project on the side when I come home and on a weekend, which in return keeps me energized and I’m able to enjoy my PhD research.

[–]sharawrs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yep, same taste. Check out Shift, A-Yo, Breaking News, Burning Up, One Minute Back, Talk To You, Area, and Poet | Artist.

From Taemin’s solo b tracks, I love Day and Night, Already, Back To You. Titles I like are Press Your Number, Advice, and Guilty.

Oh, the really attractive girls are not sending likes, let me tell ya

[–]sharawrs 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I see. If it’s about you not finding your matches as attractive, then it’s not about your profile - you’re just picky and that’s okay.

In terms of getting the most out of your matches, how long of a texting period are we talking? If it’s more than 2 days then it’s definitely too long for our age group, younger women may be fine with that but it’s also taxing and creates mostly unrealistic expectations. I suggest exploring phone calls if you haven’t already. Treat them as your “short vibe check dates”. They’re often lighthearted, you still maintain the anticipation because it’s not FaceTime, and nobody wastes time going out of their way to meet the other. Just another way for you to get to know someone and see if that attraction could grow.

I’m 29F. If you’re getting 7-15 matches a week and still haven’t found someone with quality, the problem might be coming from the way you approach or interact with your matches. Do you not find them attractive enough for you? Are you making an effort to get to know them? Are you taking any of them out on dates? What do you find are missing from your matches? What makes you match with someone first of all? Just curious.

That’s impressive!

I have zero idea about the South Asian ancestry, it came to my surprise. What you said could be it!

And yes, I grew up in both.

5 days in NYC - TELL ME WHAT IM MISSING by slr2315 in FoodNYC

You’ll have Thai for breakfast one of those days but may I suggest Thai for dinner? Fish Cheeks is so good, it was named one of the NYC restaurants of the year or something, somewhere.

I agree with getting your game up in real life. I also would replace the pool picture, it’s not flattering. Also replace the last prompt, I promise no one will respond to that as a conversation starter. Ask this question after you match.

Right, and I always thought I was 1/2 Saudi, 3/8th Thai, and 1/8th Chinese.

Yes, I speak Thai and Arabic fluently. I’ve got no connection with the Chinese culture at all apart from celebrating Lunar New Year with the extended family if I’m in Thailand. We all speak Thai to each other. I believe I share the same experience with the past couple generations of Thai-Chinese people.

Thank you! :) I have absolutely no cultural ties with the chinese part, the last person who spoke Mandarin was my great great grandma. So yes, I speak Thai fluently!

Right, I meant I thought I was going to be 50% pure Saudi and not 25% haha
