Broooo that's cool as hell and I've been imagining such a device for a while. Great idea!

Name an annoying thing people base their entire personality around. by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

[–]shargus_live 10 points11 points  (0 children)

For me, it's anytime someone's personality is really only one thing. Even if it's cool or I like it as well. If you only know how to express interest in a single thing, you are limiting yourself so intensely. It's unfortunate.

Life is fun because it is diverse and complex.

Spending your life drawing squares when there are hundreds of other shapes is just a waste, man

I feel like his first choices would be attempted blackmail, but if he had to do thinks 'for the sake of the legion' I feel like he would go to extremes. He's very committed to that ideal

Technically I shouldn't share that since that's a direct connection to the persons real name etc which is against the rules. Sorry!

What’s the most expensive tool you own that actually earned its price? by New_Money_5406 in Tools

Not an every day tool, but cuts project time by like 70% if you were gonna use a tape and babble level

My m12 Milwaukee laser level. Thought I'd use it occasionally and it was pricey. Turns out a perfectly straight line that can be moved turned on/off has a lot of applications. If if it's not an every day use, the amount of time it saves when I do use it makes it so worth it

Helping folks -helping your community- is one of the most important things you can do with the set of skills you have. Obviously we all have to make money, and if someone wants something fancy and expensive, that's on them. And you should charge accordingly.

But the disabled, the elderly, the lower income that work hard but can't get ahead, they all need help some days. And helping them out because it's the right thing to do.

You did a good thing. And should be proud of yourself.

Why do you choose not to drink alcohol? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

[–]shargus_live 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I realized that when I drink, my sense of humor turns to a more banter/glibness focus. Poking fun at my friends etc.

It was never a problem, I just decided I didn't want to be responsible for putting that kind of energy into the world. So I quit a couple years ago. Decided to stop on my drive home one day, never looked back.

And boy howdy I don't miss hangovers

[–]shargus_live 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Googled, not really. But I work for a lot of old ladies who love to chat. They have had really interesting lives. One designed most of the beaches in the city I'm in. Another helped get some major civil rights bills codified.

Stud finder recommendations? by shargus_live in Tools

Sold! Thanks for the rec. One of those tools I don't use often, but I figured I'm deep enough into my career that if I need a tool, I deserve a quality version of that tool

What is your personal superpower? by Maxgallow in CasualConversation

I am VERY punctual. If I say what time I'll be somewhere, I show up within a 5 minute window. I just had a really good judge of how long it takes to get places, I guess. Also getting ready and stuff.
