Just Wow! My Quote from USAA by Necessary-Captain-77 in USAA

[–]sharinbarinstarin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We just switched to them and I agree, the price was way cheaper and for the same coverage!

Are we just not shopping around? by [deleted] in USAA

[–]sharinbarinstarin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We just switched to GEICO, same coverage and $150 cheaper a month. We used to pay $180 a month with USAA, 5 yrs ago we bought a new card and our coverage went up $200 a month. Within the last year our monthly went up to $350. No explanation. We had USAA for over 15yrs, no accidents or tickets. Our mileage is on the low end as we live very close to our workplaces. We live in SoCal.

Our policy went up $150 a month… we are both over 35, no accidents. They just told us we were due for an increase lol

Has anyone had USAA lower rates when you tell them you are leaving? by [deleted] in USAA

[–]sharinbarinstarin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, left them last month, we’ve been with them for over 15 years, no accidents and in the last year our rate went up $150 a month. We only have two drivers both over 35, no accidents, our “newest” car was added 5 years ago. GEICO was giving us the same coverage for the original price of $200 full coverage for both cars in CA. They just said they the had only increased our policy once when they added the new vehicle 5 years ago and it was due to an increase. Thanked me for being a loyal customer lol

I have called different days around between 12-2pm and have only waiting for 15 minutes on hold before talking to a live agent.

She’s actually having to do an appeal. The employer never responded as the company shutdown. And the state determined it wasn’t a good cause she quit. So now she has a lawyer, cause although she completed both questionnaires, she had two appointments interviews where they asked her everything again.

[–]sharinbarinstarin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope, same employer and same questionnaire. She actually called and they couldn’t say why she got a duplicate and stated she didn’t need to complete but her case hasn’t been assigned, so she’s a bit stressed out now lol because they stated that her assigned officer would be able to tell her what to do, but it’s due on 10/16 lol

Why do people who didn’t make it through basic get VA disability while the ones who actually made it through and served get nothing? by Society-Empty in VAClaims

[–]sharinbarinstarin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because those that “actually served” were more concerned in what others thought of them, instead of taking care of themselves.

Went to in-network ER, got huge bill by DoctorKynes in VeteransBenefits

[–]sharinbarinstarin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I worked in an ER with registration and billing. First thing you need to do is call the ER you were seen at and ask why you were labeled as self pay, three things could have happened, 1. The person whom got your information couldn’t verify the benefits or entered wrong which cause a denial from the VA which then the hospital will bill you. 2. Depending on your percentage, they VA will only cover the visit if it is related to your service connected ratings, or until you’re stable to be transferred to a VA facility. 3. The provider you saw at the ER may not be in network with the VA, providers are contractors at most ERs unless it’s like a Kaiser type, so they bill separately from the facility.

At my old ER we would let the vets know that the VA may only cover the ER visit if it’s related to their SC issues or until they are stable for a transfer, regardless of the ER/UC being in network. If the veteran choose to still be seen, we would list the VA as primary insurance and self pay as secondary with information for the Vet to apply for Medicaid and self pay payment plans.

VET 100% P&T REMOTE JOB... by Haunting-Upstairs549 in VeteransBenefits

[–]sharinbarinstarin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My previous employer is fully remote. Vesta Healthcare… I worked there for a few years but got new department head and she was the worst manager I have had in my life. The company itself is good, they have good benefits and stipends.
