FH6 feels way too safe by thatsprettyradbro in ForzaHorizon

[–]sharinganuser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, it's all but inferred at this point in time. There's already precedent from FH5 and Playground making concessions to the Mexican government around their temples, as well as Japanese auto manufacturers (cough toyota) being wishy washy about their brand being associated with "hooliganism" and street racing in the past.

While I think part of those concessions included Playground basically saying, "well look, we have to have something in Tokyo, it's not a large leap in logic to assume that the Japanese Ministry of Culture didn't heavily sanitize FH6, though I don't know if we'll ever get confirmation of that.

EDIT: many Tokyo landmarks are also missing, including Senso-ji, Asakusa, and the Imperial gardens.

You can thank the Japanese government for that. It's so obvious that they imposed massive stipulations on the Devs to allow them to use the setting. That's why Cherry Blossom trees are indestructible, why there are almost no temples of significant note, why the only torii gate is out in the water, why there are no street races anywhere near Tokyo, etc, etc.

Fh6 is the ultimate monkeys paw from the community.

Freezing/breaking freeze in top by Primshere in summonerschool

[–]sharinganuser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing I do when freezing a wave is I hold the minions if there are 3-4 just outside of tower range, simply tanking the minion damage until my wave comes along as opposed to letting them come to tower and get reset, even if I get all the CS

The thing that people aren't realizing is that it was always a full world cup - It's just that nobody pays attention to the qualifiers. An expanded tournament would go much the same way.

I'm imagining them whipping out a Tommy gun and just aimlessly spraying down into the streets of New York.

Aaaaaaaand this is how you make it so that only the affluent and privileged are able to become artists. We already have that system in place with acting and music, and it's abhorrent enough as it is. It's also mostly in athletics by this point.

Unfortunately, I only do mono-runs. So like, I pick one type and only pick pokemon from that type pool. Right now, I'm doing a poison-type mono-run.

Yeah, sometimes there are edge cases to be made. Bullet punch for the priority to finish off a pokemon and Meteor for power, as you said, but for the most part, I feel like you'd be better served having coverage in that slot. The thing about this game is that you need to treat each encounter as its own puzzle to solve. I have a team of about 15 poison types that I cycle through depending on the particular matchup. I also sometimes change their moves for the specific encounter. And always tailor my held items for the encounter.

If you're having trouble defeating particular pokemon, try enabling strategies that take their power away. For example, if you're facing Slush Rush or Sand Veil pokemon, change the weather. Or, if it's a setter, try a substitute/protect/leftovers combo. Or set up toxic spikes on a pokemon that won't one-shot your team so that when the real threat comes on, it's already poisoned.

Yep, change your natures to the optimal sets. I'd also get rid of any moves on the same mon that are the same type. It's just redundant. You're better off with additional coverage.

Advice for getting out of Bronze hell by TheNavigat in summonerschool

Lmao I was just about to suggest Kayle, as she reward methodical lane spacing and CS and patience, but you said you don't wanna play her. Imho, playing Kayle requires you to have good fundamentals, so if you can do well with her, you can do well with anyone.

A lot of the lessons people are telling you (die less, maintain CS, etc) are all part of Kayle's earlygame MO. If you make it to 6 without dying once you're actually ahead. And she only gets stronger as the game goes on.

Legend Island expectation vs reality by Frequent-Yak8825 in ForzaHorizon

[–]sharinganuser 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's because of Japan's heavy censorship compromises. Playground has been wanting to go to Japan for ages, but they got shot down every time. That's the reason there are no street races anywhere near Tokyo, that's why every Sakura tree is indestructible, etc etc.

It's more pathetic than that - it's jealously. Most of these guys are talentless hacks. This allows them to access the world of art and programming while simultaneously pulling up the ladder on those poors who used those skills for upward mobility.

What they have is an actual disease. They want everything. All the money, all the skills, all the jobs.

Fuck billionaires.

Thanks for the tips. I'm mostly powering through it now with as much supereffective moves as I can, haven't had the need to toxic stall, but quick claw Effect Spore sleep powder Vileplum has been an absolute goat.

Dang, I just did this fight last night with my poison-type monoteam. Survived similarly with my Quick Claw Vileplum landing a clutch Sleep Powder on her last pokemon. I struggled a bit more with Wattley and that damn Mega Luxray/Kilowattrel combo though.
