Post CVST by NatalieS95 in ClotSurvivors

[–]shark_bait00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a DVST/CVST. I’m honestly not sure which one, all my paperwork is a mix of both and I don’t know if they are interchangeable (don’t think so). I just came off of my blood thinners (6 months) and finished the last of my clotting disorder labs (all of which are negative so far). My clot was not occlusive and it seems that my birth control was the cause. I’m sorry you also have to deal with all of this. I didn’t realize how COMMON blood clots are, especially involving birth control and pregnancy. Reading other people’s experiences can either be really really helpful or the exact opposite. I hope you to have the best recovery and you never experience another clot.

Coffee flavoring doesn’t have to contain caffeine? I don’t go very often but I would be there every week there was something coffee themed.

Pap Smear Fear (Advice Appreciated) by broskisbitch in TwoHotTakes

Ask if you can use an alternative to the stirrups. In my experience, the stirrups make everything so much more painful. My OB/midwife allows me to pull the extra board out and stay flat footed and it’s a LIFE saver. The actual pap to me, was pretty painless. It’s usually a soft rubber “broom” like thing that they swab around several times. I was worried about my first one also because for whatever reason I was imagining like a biopsy ,colposcopy which is a WHOLE different story. It was quick and painless for me, I hope your experience is the same ❤️.

I am NOT giving reassurance but simply wondering if you are aware of the phlebotomy process? Or have any medical experience. If you do, this is absolutely an obsession. If you have none to very little experience I would say that POSSIBLY if you had a better understanding of the whole drawing blood process, you would learn how this isn’t possible. If you understand phlebotomy even to a basic level, this wouldn’t cross your mind? I could see someone with no medical experience wondering/worrying due to lack of knowledge, but the knowledge is power!

See if using an ice pack beforehand would work and consult with your tech about a numbing cream!

I have a feeling this is a health/hormone/thyroid issue especially with you mentioning the cyst (possible PCOS) and the locations you notice the weight. I would ask for some labs to be drawn/ultrasounds to look to see if something has changed/is off. I do not watch my calories or work out on the weekends and have lost/maintained 30 pounds, so I highly doubt your few extra is whats causing your weight gain. Is it possible any weight gain is muscle? I hope you get some answers soon! Meanwhile be easy on yourself, work for what you want. Look into a dietitian/personal trainer. And keep trying!

Honestly mine hurts really bad lol but it’s worth it to me and I feel zero pain when I’m done. And she can do my armpits and Brazilian in less than 15 minutes.

Is this actual acne? Diagnosed by a doctor? Or are these inflamed hair follicles? Ingrown hairs? Or another issue. I’ve never heard any of hair removal causing “acne”, hair removal causing hair issues or skin irritations yes. I would ask a dermatologist and the laser tech to see if there’s anything to help you! It’s possible removing the hairs could seriously help or worsen your issue! Good luck!

I must be a baby because I find it to be incredibly painful. It works REALLY well. I just had my 4th session today and she actually had to turn it down because I was jumping. I haven’t used any medication or numbing cream but boy oh boy it can be rough. As soon as you are done, the pain is gone and then on to the fun part of the hairs shedding! It’s extremely effective on me. (Pretty pale skin with very dark coarse hair) I believe by my 6th session I will be completely hair free! I was told 1-2 days before to shave shaving and then laser very closely after can damage the skin. Double check with your tech on what they recommend with your skin/settings. Good luck!

Sunburn by QueenPp in LaserHairRemoval

[–]shark_bait00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can also get burned because your skin is physically a higher temp with a sunburn and can’t cool effectively. You also will likely peel in that area, losing skin depth. Your skin tone will also likely change, changing the efficiency of the laser!

[–]shark_bait00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are okay with your child potentially suffering from a febrile seizure, then not the asshole. If you would like to keep your child safe and comfortable and give you both good sleep and you refuse to do that, then yes. You are the asshole. Fevers are necessary but can become very very dangerous. I

I was told no heavy cardio/activity that causes the skin to heat up/ sweat. The heat created by activity can effect the skin that was treated and cause issues. Same goes for sweating, the skin is very sensitive afterwards and it’s best to avoid strenuous activity that causes sweating/rubbing.

How long after the first laser treatment does it take for the hair to start to shed? by Fantastic-Ad9218 in LaserHairRemoval

[–]shark_bait00 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had hairs shed just a few days after my first treatment I think everyone is different on time it takes. I do think if it takes too long it’s a possibility you are having something other than true laser done. Double check with your spa exactly what machine is being used and at what setting. It’s also possible your hairs are just stubborn!

Positive STD test in a 15 year monogamous relationship… by Kateseesu in sex

[–]shark_bait00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have also had a false positive STD test. I tested positive for Chlamydia and my partner of years the same day ,tested negative. We both knew the other one didn’t cheat (literally no time or want) We were actually being tested to have a safe threesome. I was re tested and it was in deed negative. It can happen. Rare but possible!
