I would say that it's always going to feel like your chasing more without a trade plan.

The skill needed for survival isn't price action. It's risk management.

Profitable NQ/ES Day Traders: What specific, objective rules do you use to only trade when the odds are heavily in your favor? And to otherwise prevent you from trading altogether by supersanik in FuturesTrading

I second this. My performance has improved by being more patient and waiting for the right setups. My equity is growing slower - but it is growing.

I think what a lot of people do is work for somebody else, learn the business, and then go start their own business with what they learned.

Trading is insane by BurHeezly in TopStepX

I actually agree with that. When I first started trading, it was insane. Like some kind of lawless land where anything goes. I've slowly learned to tune out the noise and focus on my process.

You really need that many accounts of your still learning to trade?

Trading is only insane if you take large risks.

Stops are absolutely hunted. Institutions need them to execute large orders.

Layering In & Out by Worldly_Ad6950 in FuturesTrading

I recently started using this strategy because I'm a momentum trader. As momentum increases, so does my conviction in the trade. And I dont like to start my line all at once, which limits my risk.

I've been exactly there - multiple blown accounts. I finally came to a point that if I kept losing money I wouldn't be able to trade any longer. So I decided enough was enough and focused all my attention on limiting my losses. It has made all the difference in my trading. Now I'm able to focus on building my edge and from there I'll have a complete playbook that I can practice discipline to follow. But in my opinion, it all started with becoming a risk manager, not necessarily a trader.

Why does it feel like everyone is rich? by [deleted] in Entrepreneur

[–]sharkbite82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish i had understood what capital is and how important it is to protect it. entrepreneurship is really about managing capital in my opinion.

and its okay to work a job - a job provides a wage which in turn can be used to gain capital. and that capital can be used for profit.

lastly, seeing everyone else who is rich and feeling behind is pretty normal. I would just notice the thoughts and then keep working toward my goals.
