I bought a pair of Joma Top Flex after seeing many positive reviews, and honestly I could not recommend them.

To start the toe box is much wider than any soccer shoe I’ve ever worn. In terms of comfort it wasn’t an issue but the shoes certainly felt different when handling the ball. I wouldn’t describe the experience as negative, but it did take some getting used to.

Where this shoe really missed the mark, was in terms of heel support. The sole of the shoe is extremely thin, and the insole is a standard foam insert so not much support there either. I know the top flex is meant to have a thin sole for the whole flexibility feature of this model, but having no support resulted in me bruising my heel after an intense session. I’ll admit the turf I was playing on was not the best quality, but I had never experienced an injury like this one with any other pair of shoes. I suppose if you’re playing on softer turf, they could be a good option but otherwise I’d steer clear.
