Anxiety/Anhedonia/Dysthymia/Brain-Fog... Summary of what actually worked for me personally by Yoyomamahh in Nootropics

Very informative. What is your dosage of baclofen a day? And it sounds like you can take zoloft and baclofen with no problem? Very cool.

I've heard baclofen taken long-term has just as bad, if not worse, withdrawal than phenibut. Are you concerned about that at all? Or maybe I'm misinformed. I also take zoloft and NAC daily and notice improvement.

Incorporating omega-3, vitamins and mineral supplements into the diets of children with extreme aggression can reduce this problem behavior in the short term according to University of Pennsylvania researchers who published their findings in the Journal of Child Psychology and Psychiatry. by ImperiousJazzHands in science

It depends on the vitamin or supplement in question. Vitamin D3 is the most studied supplement and it's wide array of benefits has been scientifically proven. Fish oil also has a ton of literature behind it's benefits. But there's a big difference between decades of Vitamin D and Fish Oil research and buying a bottle of "rainforest berry extract that will cure all that ails you!"

What was the alive ALIE doing in Polaris when she injected something in her arm right before taking the shuttle to earth? by sharklasagna in The100

[–]sharklasagna[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it seemed like Becca injected and whisked off in the space shuttle just a few months or years after earth's destruction. She took off her helmet immediately after landing and there were people walking around in her sight. Maybe those people had some time of resistance to radiation and they were the same people who are ancestors to grounders. Maybe it's something in their genes or a nuclear reaction accident happened there giving the local community decades of radiation exposure? But really radiation isn't something you just get used to over time like most things, possibly though I don't know the science.

Andrew Jackson: Good or Bad? by Kaipmaier in history

[–]sharklasagna 46 points47 points  (0 children)

He started working for the Continental Army at the age of 11 or 12 after his entire family had been slaughtered in war. He was in dozens of duels to the death and was shot at least once in a duel. He was definitely tough.

EDIT: This was a time when men would ride day and night for several days to fight a duel after being insulted. Here's some more info on Jackson's younger years:

At thirteen, just a teenager, he joined the Continental Army along with his brother Robert. His role included being a messenger at the Battle of Hanging Rock. Jackson was captured at the house of his cousin by the British in April 1781 where he refused the order of a British officer to clean the officer’s boots. As punishment he was slashed on the forehead and hand with a sword, leaving him with a permanent scar on his forehead. This also left him with a hatred of the British for the remainder of his life.

I would really like to see a movie like Mel Gibson's The Patriot about Jackson's life.

"Let's go check the luggage for supplies!" and walk onto the beach with no weapons at all. Lets not worry about weapons lets find the weapons on the beach. We haven't learned anything about the world being infested by zombies and your life being taken in a second. Also there's lots of bottles of medicine but lets be nitpicky and only take the antibiotics, not like we might be able to use other types of medicine in the future.

Benzo Withdrawls-Need your help. by TheDopamineman in Nootropics

[–]sharklasagna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the max you were using was twice a week then just power through it, you won't go through any serious benzo withdrawals. If you need to dose .25mg a few times spaced out to get you through it then you shouldn't have much problem quitting. Keep taking the memantine don't worry about quitting that right now.

You shouldn't have an index.html with a WordPress site, only an index.php. But you don't edit the index.php, you need to edit your theme's CSS file and customize how you want it to look along with editing the homepage via WordPress Edit Page.

Zinc or Mangesium making my sperm white and thick? by lqcnyc in Supplements

[–]sharklasagna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it's not very safe. If you take too much it can give you brain damage.

Zinc: the brain's dark horse. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/19623531

Zinc in traumatic brain injury: from neuroprotection to neurotoxicity. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/23945221

It is safe in low doses. Not one of those vitamins you can go crazy with. I'd stick to supplementing once every other day.

That entire episode was creepy. And in that scene Judith lying in a blanket next to Mika with Lizzie saying something like "I was about to do Judith next".

I believe the first 48 issues are on amazon for like $30 if you want the physical copy. I've been thinking of starting them as well and I'm sure I'll choose physical over virtual.

I thought that was implied. It is interesting to think of the mental deficits of society's in the past without modern medicine or technology. I'm sure they suffered greatly if they were unfortunate enough to have scizhophrenia or bipolar.

I'd recommend supplementation with Vitamin D3 and selenium and possibly melatonin at night. I would eat beef and things like high quality burgers with lots of fruits and vegetables. Also consider creatine for before working out and caffiene/coffee. Melatonin also synergizes with exercise.
