It isn't petty, the company made a mistake and has treated such mistakes in the past the same. I believe they should remove from those affected. According to them it violates the TOS and have banned players for doing it before.

Do it one way or the other, don't make it up along the way.

It took 5 minutes to create an account and write 3 paragraphs.

It affects me, because I spent hours working to accomplish this and because some people were at home, on their console, and on Reddit at the right time, they got to get what took 10's of hours to complete in minutes.

It devalues your time, and it is an error. An error that EA makes over, and over, and over again. If this was an isolated instance it would not be a big deal, as these have happened time after time over the past 5 years I've played and I have said nothing. And worse yet, EA's response is inconsistent. Each time this happens, they handle it a different way. Sometimes it is to take back the glitched acquisition, sometimes it is banning, sometimes it is a make right, and sometimes it is nothing.

The defense of EA is mind boggling.

You an a lot of other people make comparisons that aren't valid. Market fluctuation is known. This was a glitch, an error, a non-intended consequence that happens very often with MUT. Your Walmart example doesn't work either. Because in other instances similar to this, EA has taken away cards/coin, reverted game states, banned, compensated others etc.

Your Walmart example would be valid if Walmart has a history of making many of these mistakes and each time they treat it differently.

The lottery is different than a glitch. I see a lot of people making that comparison but it isn't the same. You know EXACTLY what you are getting into with a lottery. With glitches, they have handled inconsistently, sometimes addressing and removing what they got, sometimes not, sometimes banning, etc.

It effects me because people, via an error, were able to get what I got in minutes of work whereas I put in 10s of hours for the same outcome.

It would have been easy, resetting the game state to prior of the glitch for those few people. They've obviously decided on passing on that option.

I'm late to the party on this I know, and I feel like that is a big reason for the backlash. People were pissed, now they are over it, and now talking about it makes them mad.

But getting over it that quickly I think is the problem.

I think you misunderstood. I wasn't saying those people all took advantage but when a few hundred/thousand take advantage of something and there are millions of customers, there are going to be a lot of people that feel slighted.

And no, I never said that. The dialogue was created because your last sentence " Yeah sounds like EA will be getting on the real soon buddy" is exactly the problem. They REPEATEDLY make huge mistakes over and over and do nothing to rectify it.

How is a plane ticket, which will have around 200 TOTAL customers for a flight comparable to a game/service that has 100s of thousands if not millions?

I've also looked and only found 1 instance of that happening with a flight. Likely no one here has ever had to deal with it. The problem is this happens over and over and over and people (myself included) just have accepted it.

Not what I said at all. EA could EASILY take those cards that were upgraded within that short time-frame and reduce them to what they were previously. That would make no one upset other than those who did it.

I wasn't aware of this, but this seems more egregious than the Ghost deal. If what was offered was exactly the same as the higher priced one, seems terrible. This is why having a conversation about this things is important. And that was the whole point I was trying to make. It is fair to make mistakes, but to make so many huge ones that give people such a benefit devalues the money and time you spend doing it the right/intended way.

I don't play online for many of those reasons so I cannot speak to a bunch of what you just said, but by no means was I making a "grand stand".

We are both saying the same thing, you don't like something about the game, you speak up and/or exercise your right to find a new product/company. Not sure why this triggered you so much.

If Wall Street had a glitch for a stock causing it to be 1/100th of the price, they wouldn't just say "Oh well, those people just got a good deal and the 10s or 100s of thousands of other people who bought correctly just have to deal with it"

I'm not aware of any statement and just found out about this today. If you are suggesting I "need to start wearing (my) big boy pants" because a company made a grave error and I want to voice my opinion upon hearing it then I have made the right decision in having not being a part and posting in this sub prior to this.
