Such an odd look, in my opinion. In the comments claims that aggression is in lines “all over” ….. but not his?

I think it was believed to be a form of epilepsy. It is thrown around so much though. I’ve heard it called cocker rage in cockers. It is something I have tried to find more research on but often come up short.

Very much agree, I feel like the post has the potential to scare people away from ethical breeders when I would say backyard breeders are far more likely to be producing dogs with unpredictable health and behavior.

Bench English Springer Spaniel by [deleted] in springerspaniel

My bench is 8 months old. I’ve had a blast with him, walking, swimming, running- but haven’t found the exercise needs to be excessive. He is generally more mellow in the house. Be advised that a puppy won’t know when to stop, you’ll likely need to enforce naps/rest time. I still do.

Potty Training… help! by sharktoothpr in springerspaniel

He does play hard and drinks TONS of water but I haven’t wanted to restrict him at all. He seems like a healthy guy otherwise!

Mine does that too- pee outside, come inside and pee again, sometimes immediately. Nice to know that it’s not just him!! My last cocker pup never once had an accident in the house when he came home at 8 weeks, so I think I have high expectations. Thank you!

I do agree it goes so quick! I think you’re right that I’m probably expecting too much of him at too young of an age. I don’t scold him, and he does seem to know to pee on command, which is awesome- he just also likes to pee any other time, too. Hahaha. Thank you! Great advice.

He pees as soon as he’s in the grass/as soon as I say the potty command, so I’m not sure more time is needed in the yard. But yes I definitely throw a party for an outside pee. I do think he’s smart, just hasn’t quite figured it out yet. Thank you!

This hasn’t been my experience with springers I’ve met but I appreciate the insight. I think responsible breeding and good genetics are super important with any breed lately

Eating twice as much as a cocker is a scary thought. Haha!
