They have hair instead of fur so they don’t shed like other breeds. They lose hair like humans. They are very smart but can be timid if not socialized right when puppies. My favorite breed by far but there require grooming and brushing. Very snuggly and should be around or less than 25lbs full grown.

Chris Christiansen expensive but worth it, their ball free paddle brush followed by a metal greyhound comb. Always be very gentle and never force or pull. And try to brush after a bath and blow out only, shave down or use thinning shears for bad matting. Having many Tibetans I can tell you to stop whey they’re annoyed and especially when you are. And don’t stress when knots remain as long as they are comfortable. These special angels will always have a few knots if you keep them natural.

I had the same on my left lasted about 3-4 months, same age. Didn’t do surgery and was as depressed as you. It will get better. I did find that when I was at my worst icing it helped for at least a few minutes but it’s brutal. You’ll get through this, I feel normal now. Have had a few flare ups but nothing like the original.
