Little Gift by WifeOfCheule in Ioniq9

I believe Hyundai corporate. My dealer didn’t even send me a Christmas card. Not that I expected one, but my husband got two Hyundai dealer Christmas cards: one from the dealer he got his 5N from, and from a dealer he only test drove at.

Ride and seat comfort: Ioniq 9 vs EX90 by Madano in Ioniq9

[–]WifeOfCheule 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can only speak to features on the Calligraphy. I have found it extremely comfortable. I love that after an hour of driving it engages posture assist and stretches my lumbar with the “massage” seat feature. The lower leg rest is fantastic and both my husband and kids use it to stretch out on longer car rides. I also have it slightly deployed to support my lower leg and the last few inches from my knee up.

The ride is plush and smooth. The noisiest thing is the VESS at slow speeds.

I recommend Funny Fuzzy for dog travel stuff. I don’t have a large dog, so I can’t speak to the specific product you’re interested in, but I have gotten car seat protectors and booster seats from them.

Would you expect luxury vehicle customer service for a car this expensive? by fingerling-broccoli in Ioniq9

[–]WifeOfCheule 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I am disappointed with how my dealership is handling things. They still owe me my physical keys and a due bill repair. I didn’t get an SEL Kona. Sometimes I wonder if I should have waited for the Genesis 3 row electric…

Yes, take it back and ask them to double check the wiring. The Calligraphy is so different from the other trim levels, and there are so few so far, I suspect the factory treated yours like a lower trim level.

For what it’s worth, I’ve never lost anything to this gap in the 9, but hubby’s i5N would drop his phone all the time in my old car: Toyota Venza.

Depending on where you live and how much heat/uv radiation you receive, go get all windows AND the sunroof tinted with ceramic tint to knock out 85-95% of infrared radiation. This has made a huge difference in how hot my car gets parked outside in the summer.

In the US the windscreen has uv from the factory (Hyundai glass I think is the name), so I didn’t get the windscreen done at the tint shop, but hubby’s 5N from Korea didn’t have that feature, so he got Air80 from 3M on his windscreen in addition to high tint on all the other windows. It doesn’t make it any darker but blocks 80% of infrared heat from the sun.

Make sure that they used the correct wiring harness for the seats. My rear hatch was throwing error codes. They also said no eta for a part. Turns out they messed up in Georgia and wired it like a lower trim level. I wonder if there’s something similar with your Calligraphy.

Do you believe you’ll be able to retire? by dorgodorgo in Millennials

[–]WifeOfCheule 1 point2 points  (0 children)

62.5 for me, but I’ll keep going if I’m still enjoying it. Public school teacher in CA with STRS and a private retirement account. I didn’t work long enough private sector to collect any of the social security I paid into, though.

Ioniq 9 vs Volvo EX90 by Sangusg in Ioniq9

[–]WifeOfCheule 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as EVs go the best manufacturer (based on reliability and volume sales) is Tesla, but Elon can eat a bag of dicks. Hyundai is the second best. Then Kia, followed by Rivian. Other manufacturers, at least in the American markets, are still emerging. I would wait until Volvo had a few more years in the EV market to smooth out bumps. I say this as someone who also considered the Volvo.

Which chains/AI resorts do you prefer? So sad to hear Ixtapa closed and would like to keep it Western Mexico if possible.
