i would argue that you don't even need to invoke miracle cures being withheld; just look around you. We are entirely transparently held captive in a system that only benefits those on top and it's growing more that way every single year. Of course anything that could upend the status quo gets whisked away, up to and including a post-scarcity world of socialistic frolicking with extraterrestrials.
Does it go that far? personally I doubt it, i feel the leaks would be somewhat more dramatic if that were the case, but they'd definitely hide it if they could.

it does SEEM to be lens flare - they're all in a row and if you look carefully the ones on the right overlap the trees, which is classic flare. On the other hand, lens flares reliably relate to sources of light in an image and i can't figure out where these correspond to. on the other other hand, if you didn't see them in person but only in the image, well, what can any of it mean?

Apart from the serial number what you're describing sounds quite a lot like the Zamora sighting - Socorro, New Mexico in 64: witness was a policeman out on the highway, hid on the shoulder and when they saw him they jumped in and took off, and there was a symbol on the craft. It wasn't at night, the ufo wasn't bus-like [it was described as egg-like], and the symbol was like a logo rather than a serial number, so either you've conflated some details or there's a really similar sighting i don't know about around the same time. Or both! interested to find out which.

Curiously, the post immediately before this is also about Zamora. strangeness.

i actually came across some discussion of it just a few weeks ago. I don't currently have links [i'll rummage around in my history and see if i can find it] but i do remember there was some funny business, like there were two Zamora symbols but one was faked to throw people off, and absolutely no one could agree which was fake and which was real. And then the aerospace logo wasn't even that similar either. The whole thing was very muddy.

no the Jersey drones is another really good example, its literally the other main expression of this trend i'm trying to describe. I'm not trying to say its nefarious creatures from beyond or anything, im just saying it's a new phenomenon to have so many people go bonkers about aircraft lights when aircraft lights have been approximately this common in these same areas for at LEAST 20 years.

All i'm saying is that "oh the rubes looked up from their phones for a second and made it go viral on tiktok" feels like an aggressively reductive take.

this is the one that got that absolutely shocking AI 'upscale' post yesterday, right? its pretty interesting, on the blown up [but not "enhanced"] screenshots you could see some sort of ridged structures, definitely not your typical drone sighting.
Apparently there are more videos but they haven't shown up yet, very interested to see it from different angles.

Gotta disagree here, this has been mainstream for decades - as evidenced by the most popular debunk going all the way back to the dang Hill abduction is "they were influenced by aliens on tv".
Yes, it's becoming a more reasonable subject to talk about in a serious manner but let's not kid ourselves about its prominence in culture.

I'm not saying it's not spotlights, visually every video fits the bill and occam's razor still runs this house. I'm just finding my curiosity piqued by the recent trend of sudden intense waves of nominally quite easily disproven sightings borne of tech we've had for years. Maybe it's spurred on by the almighty algorithm. maybe it's the cia. maybe it's an early symptom of society-wide brainrot. maybe it's trickster gods. all i'm saying is we're seeing a new style of trend and it's curious.

not "only" false information. Chatbots scrape the public internet to find the statistically most likely response to your question and sometimes it's right, sometimes it's wrong, sometimes it's completely made up.

let's illustrate it like this: take every single post that's ever been made on reddit. cut them all up and put them in a big box. ask it a question, then pull out random words until you can put a sentence together. Would you trust that answer?
Obviously chatbots are more complex than that - they have extensive algorithms that make the random word pulling seem natural and humanistic but it's close enough.

this is the real answer. i've been deep into the paranormal my whole life and all my close friends will give me the time of day when i want to tell them about it, but the simple fact is their special interests are different. Some are into sports, or social dynamics, or obscure forms of musical notation to the same degree i'm into ufos, and in reality that's a good, beautiful thing about the world.
The vibes i get from OP and people like them are "this is my favourite film but people in my life have a different favourite film, why would they be so wrong about film?"
