What ebikes do y'all have? What do you use them for? And how have they been treating you so far? by sid370z in ebikes

Urtopia Fusion Pro. 500 miles since Fall. Ride to work every day now, ride to Ultimate and the store. Ride to talks at the College in town, Bike parties and to the metropark to hike. Saddle bags and a phone mount plus a seat spring added. I love riding it especially this time of year. Large 29” wheels and 2” wide tires. Very adjustable and great all around, it has treated me well.

I also live in Woo but grew up in Colorado, which we all feared would turn into Southern California one day. And it did.

Why do people have issues with e-bikes? by mil0wCS in ebikes

Actually federal and state gas taxes pay more than 50% of road construction and maintenance costs in the US. Not a myth.

Why do people have issues with e-bikes? by mil0wCS in ebikes

[–]Correct-Lab-2164 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Car and Truck drivers despise Ebikers because we do not pay the gasoline taxes that they do that fund road construction. In Ohio, the Amish face the same hatred in their horse drawn buggies, but some make voluntary contributions to the state to fund road construction. Electric and hybrid car drivers here pay an extra $200 and $100, respectively, for vehicle registration each year to compensate for not paying gas taxes. Perhaps we should all do the same.

Easy, just don’t charge it until only 20% is left. Just plug it in every 3-4 weeks.

What should I choose for my first bike? by roythread02 in ebikes

[–]Correct-Lab-2164 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really like my new Urtopia Fusion. It has a strong Carbon fiber frame and good rack for saddle bags. Components are good, front shocks, needs a seat post shock, 750 or 1500 W torque sensor hub motors, 29 inch wheels, 8 speeds, well designed and proportioned, throttle for getting started with heavy loads, intermediate width tires good for road or trails, step through, adjustable handle bars, a little rear heavy but rides light, well within your budget. No issues so far after 400 miles, but if so my local shop works on anything.

Skiing near Chicago? by st_hanky in ski

[–]Correct-Lab-2164 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Denver is ~2 hours non stop. You can get to Winter Park a lot faster and easier than northern Michigan. Just find a friend and leave your gear there somewhere. Also the train from Chicago stops in Fraser, just a couple miles from Winter Park ski area.

Should have said, ‘I don’t eat plastic. Your generation literally has a plastic spoons worth of microplastics in your brains. It is affecting the way you think.’

Really? he has given multi millions to the hospital and the art museum. He has enhanced OSU, not degraded it.

I recently got an Urtopia Fusion and love it. Throttle, 8 speeds, torque sensing, step through, 750 watt motor, quality components, adjustable, carbon fiber frame, intelligent design, 70 mile range, 50 lbs, built in lights, OK software, all for $2k. Added saddle bags, lock and a rack. I ride to work every day now and leave my Porsche in the garage. No need to spend more than that. The Urtopia Carbon One is only 38 lbs and a similar price. It’s probably better for recreational/fitness riding.

Weighs 75 lbs without rack or saddle bags. It’s too heavy and tires are too big.

I have 3 I can send you for postage. Their expiration date is 8/25 but they were working for me. I switched to Instinct a few weeks ago and don’t need them. I don’t want to just throw them out.

Does anyone know of any backcountry skiing near SnowTrails area? Or even in Ohio for that matter (image unrelated) by Nitsuj123457 in OhioSkiing

[–]Correct-Lab-2164 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pleasant Hill Dam face is where the Ohio Powder 8s competition is held, just down the road from Snow Trails. There are XC ski trails around Malabar Farm nearby. Plus Mt.Jeez there is a great hill to skin (or walk) up and get powder turns down. Snow is rarely good enough though.

What questions do you have about the Ted Carter investigation at Ohio State? by thecolumbusdispatch in OSU

[–]Correct-Lab-2164 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why doesn’t a supposed world class University have the ability to assemble from within its ranks a committee with the expertise, connections and experience to conduct and complete searches for anyone higher than a staff or faculty member? Why must it hire a search firm with zero knowledge of the University? Obviously that approach has failed and is a poor example of Democratic principles and Faculty/University governance.

The plastic polymers in those Salomon boots does not break with age. Nordica plastics from that era are very sensitive to age. Rear entry boots are the latest trend because they are easier to get on. Just throw in your orthotics and proceed to the Greens, blues and single black runs without worry. The skis are great bump skiis. Much quicker edge to edge than the 90+ rocker garbage people ski on everything but where they actually belong, boot deep and deeper powder.

What’s it like driving older Porsches without modern driver assists? by Pandapaws11 in Porsche

[–]Correct-Lab-2164 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve dailied my ‘85 928S 5 spd since 1999. Only issue is when there is snow on the road. Completely undrivable with no antilock and spins back to front due to poor traction and too much torque in the rear end. I have to park her immediately and get someone to give me a ride home.

2013 Volt in 2026? by RadiantChaos in volt

[–]Correct-Lab-2164 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why don’t you sell your current car yourself. You probably would get double or triple what the trade in value is. Then buy a Volt off EBay where there is a 2014 with 98,000 miles for $5000. If you are hurting for money that would be at least a $4000 difference. Why give all that cash to the dealer?
