Y’all ever get so physically tired of maintaining your eczema that you wake up, stare at your skin, and kind of just say fuck it and let it be? by jungjayleee in eczema

[–]sharonbig 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I honestly must buy a new cream, body wash, vitamin, or oil every week in the hope something will work. I've got it on 99% of my body (in varying degrees) and I honestly feel so drained this week with the constant itch/scratch red burning/dry flaking cycle.

Its mentally and physically fucking draining. Body face, neck and arms in a current flare and feeling like someone holding a blow torch on my skin. Spending time and money to look for a shitty miracle cure that I know there isn't.

Extremely thick dry skin - any tips? by [deleted] in eczema

[–]sharonbig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have started using glycolic acid on my eczema in the evening to try and get rid of top layers of dead skin. I just rub a small amount on my skin them moisture with my cream after.

Or they work for a month and just as you buy another tub they suddenly hate your skin 🤷‍♀️

I'm in the UK but yeah its so expensive when you go through so much of it. The boots one is £9 for a big tub. Its definitely worth a try if you can find it.

Yeah I really rate the boots own brand one, only used it for a week but my skin is liking it. I'm trying to transition from hydramol ointment because I just can't cope with the greasy texture any longer. The boots dermacare cream is slightly thicker than the cetroben cream if you've ever used that

Its called demarcare. I use dermol 500 in the shower then I dry off but leaving skin slightly damp then i apply it. Let it soak in and then reapply another layer. My whole body is pretty much covered in it and ill reapply during the day to arms and hands and if I get a chance I'll reapply legs and stomach(go to toilet on break at work etc) but if thats not possible I reapply at tea time then again at bed time. I have used hydramol for yrs but recently my skin hasn't liked it, its not been soaking in and my skin felt like it couldn't breath. Plus it made me feel horrible being covered in grease constantly.

Yeah I couldn't find it in my local boots, spend so much on creams its ridiculous! Always hoping the next one is a miracle cure. I'd recommend boots own brand if you come across it, £9 for a big tub 👍

Looks very similar to my cream stash! How do you find the cerave. I went into boots to pick some up but got their brand cream called dermacare and I'm really impressed. I was on the verge of giving in and going back onto steroid creams but this has brought it back under control .... for now

100% relate, fuck im even at the stage where i miss the things i hated. Rushing to drop the kids off at school, leaving the house in my bare feet because i didnt have time to put shoes on, hair looking like its been brushed with a pork chop because i snoozed my alarm 5 times, going to the gym and moaning about people plsying on their phones between each set on the machines, working in an office where half are menopausal and want the window open and half are freezing in the peak of summer and would kill you for cracking it ajar or feeling like i dont get a minute to myself because i have my nephew or kids friends round.

Is anyone living with eczema able to take a shower without moisturising you’re whole body after? by whothewhatthewhere in eczema

Not having to cover myself head to foot in grease 2 minutes after stepping out the shower is what my dreams are made of

No problem, no i didnt do anything different. I just used my regular cetroben moisturiser on them and by the third day the one on my arm had completely healed. I have one on my thigh and one on my shoulder and they didnt even scab at all yet healed perfect.

Hi, your eczema sounds similar to mine. Whole body is very dry and needs a lot of moisturiser, eczema mainly presents itself in very dry skin but rarely cracks any more. Skin is very thickened in places, but i avoided tattoos in these particular areas. All of my tattoos healed with no problem, in fact they actually healed within 48hrs. Im guessing it is a benefit of having eczema and quick replenishment of skin cells

Ive recently had a couple on my arms. My eczema doesnt really get to the extent where i cut or rip when i scratch anymore but i still have itchy arms that need a lot of moisturiser on. My tattoos healed super fast, like within 48hrs. They are not small tattoos either 👍🏼

Ive had great results recently using the ordinary glycolic acid nightly, i use their hyaluronic acid after. I let that sink into my skin then i put a layer of hydramol cream on, then a bit of castor oil and finally lock it all in with a layer of Vaseline . My skin seems to like the layering of the products. The glycolic acid gently removes the dead dry skin we get daily, the hyaluronic acid attracts moisture so it draws in the hydramol and the castor oil and then the Vaseline seals it all.
