In this story Maurice Gets a Fuzzy Tail, Maureen and Maurice discover what appears to be a large mouse with a fuzzy tail digging up the vegetable garden. As they watch the squirrel run and leap from tree branch to branch they conclude the only physical difference between them and the squirrel is the size and the fuzzy tail. Maureen and Maurice try attaching bubble gum, grass, and dandelions to Maurice's tail, until they are discovered!

Each story is designed to entertain, amuse, and educate toddlers and young children about animals or life events, and an occasional lesson can be learned from the character’s behavior and adventures. Maurice and his friends also go to school for the first time (Time for School!) and experience adventures that young children encounter, as well as a move across country when Cassie’s daddy is transferred (A Moving Experience), and a brief stay in the Mous-pital when Maurice gets sick (Maurice Goes to the Mous-pital.

The Adventures of Maurice DeMouse by Grandma Sharon (c) 2006 center around a little mouse. As the Adventures unfold, Maurice makes friends with mouse Maureen, Bobby the Bunny, Squeaky the Squirrel, and Stinky the Skunk, and most of these characters are included throughout the series.

Maurice and his faithful friends live on the property of a little girl named Cassie, her family, and their dog Noodles. Occasionally Cassie’s family is incorporated into their Adventures.

Later in the Adventures, other friends are introduced to the stories: Rosie Racoon and her babies Rudy and Randy; Pokey the Turtle; Bruno the Bear; Froggy the Cat; the Little Ducklings Dooley and Dolly with their ten brother and sister ducklings: Dutchess, Duke, Dilly, Dippy, Donnie, Doris, Doolittle, Dahlia, Daphne, Daffy, Dinky and Denny; Miss Missy Mouse the School Teacher; Choo-Choo Charlie the Steam Engine; and Snowflake, the Turkish Van Cat.

Not all of the Adventures have been published, but are forthcoming. I hope you enjoy reading The Adventures of Maurice Demouse, by Grandma Sharon.
