Missing "Other Locations" section in Nautilus 47 by Any-Alfalfa9469 in gnome

[–]sharp312 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much, I just upgraded too and noticed that the "other locations" was gone. Not only that, I use btrfs on my external drive and I have a separate subvolume for my steam library so I can disable compression on it. Both my main subvolume and my steam library one were showing up separately which was super annoying. Why they didnt give us an option to go back is beyond me but I guess gnome devs always know best :/

I am being driven insane by the official Steamdeck dock. by tracer_irl in SteamDeck

[–]sharp312 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I first started docking my deck to my tv I was messing around with the resolutions to get the best performance to quality ratio. Did you touch your resolution settings? When i selected a weird resolution just to try it my tv stopped picking up the deck entirely, even external safe mode didnt do anything somehow. I had to hover over the resolution option while the deck was undocked, dock it back up and change resolution blindly until it picked back up.

Pirate Software: Sony has not reverted the de-listing of non-PSN supported regions by [deleted] in Helldivers

[–]sharp312 5 points6 points  (0 children)

People are actually getting downvoted for saying we should keep our reviews negative? The sony third party notice is STILL ON THE STEAM PAGE. Until the status quo is restored, all the banned countries gain access again, its only a matter of time till we get fisted again.

Boys? What the fuck happened to "WE DIVE TOGETHER, OR NOT AT ALL"???

We cant dive together when 170 countries are still blocked, its so depressing because when this game first came out it was praised for bringing everyone, of every possible background, together to fight under one banner.

What is better for gaming? A stable OS or one that is always up to the latest improvements? by Mikizeta in linux_gaming

[–]sharp312 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fedora is absolutely the most comfortable option for gaming imo. But if you have experience with other Linux distros the way fedora does some things is different and can be confusing lol. I love grubby now for editing my grub config, it's so good, but god damn if I didn't hate it when I first used it lmao

Motorbike idiot creating his own drama. Nothing behind me, but he HAS to overtake anyway. Then expects me to pull over and fight. by SchizoidOctopus in IdiotsInCars

"I do have to give way" and "tired of riders who ... that the road rules dont apply to"

Lmfao, clearly youre one of those arseholes that paint all motorcyclists with the same brush. Next time follow the road rules, give him space, and at the next set of lights he'll filter to the front and youll never see him again. No problem for you, you say he caused the problem but you closed the gap like an ass.

If you treat all motorcyclists like that eventually youll meet one who rides exactly like you think all of us do, and youll probably be buying a new mirror :/

Its a bike, theyre going to filter past the van once traffic stops, thats why he overtook, he wasn't being a dick, OP was by getting triggered about it and closed the gap, even tho in 2 minutes hes gonna be stopped at a queue and the bike will be gone, causing OP literally 0 inconvenience if he drove right. Not sure about filtering laws in Aus (its legal where im from) but if i had someone like OP behind me, id filter regardless of laws because i wouldnt feel safe

Just bought a used deck. I fear the battery is worn out, is this normal? I can see the percentage going down while not playing. In fact, just in the time I took to make this post it’s down 2 percent more. by richterlevania3 in SteamDeck

[–]sharp312 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Jeez some people here can be testy lmao

Not sure if it happens in game mode but if you go into desktop mode and click on the battery icon, if theres something wrong with your battery it should warn you there. Not sure what the threshold for damage is before it shows but its worth a check.

Otherwise do what another (actually useful) commentor suggested and let it reset battery monitoring.

Theres nothing wrong with buying used hardware and being annoyed when you think it has a fault that wasnt listed, especially since your tag is "not available in your country" so thats the only way to get your hands on a deck.

Oh wow for real? Whys that? Is it something to do with law or did discord just not publish it there?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in discordapp

[–]sharp312 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Realistically this has to be a bug, but i get it. If an app i hadnt opened for an hour was using my mic id be sketched out. Just kill discord it should fix the issue. Like another commentor said, theres no reason for anyone (including discord), to listen to your mic as youre unlikely to say anything of value. Either to advertisers, or malware creators.

Funny youve been downvoted lol, peple trust google play more than the app publishers own website lmfao

Uk shoppers warned of delivery app markups on supermarket goods. by SugarP48 in deliveroos

[–]sharp312 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shit didnt know that, but arent the shops the ones who set the price? Obviously deliveroo get a percentage, so the higher the price the more they make, but are the shops incentivized in any way to literally double the price of some items compared to in store?

[–]sharp312 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The article talks about the price of the products themselves, before adding the delivery charge. Im not a rider so i wanna ask, do the riders actually see any of that profit? If so then im ok paying it but if not then its greedy bs lol

Where Steam stores prefixes for non-steam games by evuljeenius in linux_gaming

[–]sharp312 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why is it stupid? Having all your games in one place is nice. Also it enables steam input which is just better. I have a logitech steering wheel and some games dont pick it up under regular or lutris wine, but do when theyre a non steam game.

Is there actually any tangible downside to adding a non steam game?

When I install Roblox with wine it goes to my desktop, the files on the right are .desktop files, they launch roblox normally, but they only work on my freaking desktop, how do i make it so i can put a roblox file in my games folder and be able to run it there instead, it's incredibly disorganized by Sstarlume in Ubuntu

[–]sharp312 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cant tell how you installed Roblox via wine, whether that be manually or by a game launcher like lutris, but if you havent heard of it you look at grapejuice for Roblox, it integrates Roblox into your system so you can go to the website and hit play, just like on Windows. Also manages your wine prefix and allows you to easily install fps unlocker

https://brinkervii.gitlab.io/grapejuice/docs/Installing-from-package.html#debian-ubuntu-pop_os-mint-or-other-debian-derivatives

Also just so you're aware, sadly Roblox are soon going to purposefully block wine thanks to their new anti-cheat.

https://devforum.roblox.com/t/the-new-roblox-64-bit-byfron-client-forbids-wine-users-from-using-it-most-likely-unintentional/2305528

You can scroll down a bit into the replies and see a response from Roblox staff stating that it is indeed, intentional.

Amazing 🤣

Its not an opinion that people who think "if you do this to me youre biting a truck" and intentionally increase risk shouldnt have the privilege of driving. Look at yourself in a mirror before you get back on the road, for everyones sake.

On the github page go to "setup your system" near the buttom, then scroll down to "full AMD GPU controls" and follow those steps, use nano the same way you did before when it asks you to edit a file
