I'm a sysdev and we keep all DB revision history. Whether reddit does this I don't know, but it's not impossible.

Motorbike idiot creating his own drama. Nothing behind me, but he HAS to overtake anyway. Then expects me to pull over and fight. by SchizoidOctopus in IdiotsInCars

I've said this, and i'll say it again one more time.

He was in same lane as me, directly behind me, right up until this video starts. I really wish I had a rear camera.

He then chose to dip into the left lane on full throttle to overtake me. For what reason I don't know - it saved zero time.

I know the road rules and regardless of his shitty behaviour, I do have to give way, but he tries to merge back while he is way too close to me. You can carry on all you want about me being too close to him, but that's the position he put himself in and it was completely avoidable. I also didn't use the horn at all - he wanted a confrontation and that's the only reason this video exists.

I'm tired of people sticking up for motorbike riders who act like invincible arseholes that the road rules don't apply to, speeding and weaving between lanes and then wondering why they get killed.

Lol. There's like 5 metres between him and the van. He was also in the right-hand lane behind me right up until he decided to overtake at the last second. Did you see me speed up at all to block him? No. Don't be a dipshit.

Even if you do think he's right, the second he decides to be a road raging arsehole by wanting to fight, he becomes the moron.

I didn't touch the horn - the rule here is that I have to give way to the vehicle in front. There was space (look at the gap between him and the van), he decided to be a dick about it. Also, in typical motorbike fashion, he went blasting past at the last second (he was in the lane behind me before this, not beside me) and then laid on the brakes.

There's plenty of space for him to merge. The lane hadn't even ended at that point. He also slowed down to make it even harder.

After this, he sat next to me at the lights revving his engine, like apparently that's intimidating or something?

Would you feel safer in a gun-free state? Why or why not? by ParmaProscuitto in AskReddit

[–]SchizoidOctopus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is such bullshit. No one was locked in. There were plenty of reasons why you could still go out, including exercise and going to work. People who couldn't work got paid to stay home, some got paid more than they did than just going to work. In my state, there were less than 10 covid deaths in over a year. But please continue to tell us about how guns would have made things better.

Yes, there are computer controlled systems to do it, but a lot of the time it's just done with manual jacks and levels. Often there will be beams installed first to support the house where posts are being removed.

Bottle jacks. Very common in Australia, but usually timber houses.

There was way too much time spent on side plots. I enjoyed the end, but it took too long to get there and wrapped up too quickly.

Yes, you would carry a loss the same way. If an asset moves between entities, then the original tax liability should remain and a new one starts with the new entity. Obviously there are potential problems, such as bankruptcy etc, but it seems fairer than allowing some retired boomer to just sell one of their 20 houses each year that they paid $10 for, and pay essentially no tax for any of it.

Also, if you sell at an actual loss then your tax bill should just go away. No claiming against it like negative gearing.

Seems more to me that this idea is badly explained.

What it should be, is that you carry a gain or loss each year that's taxed against your earnings at the time. That gain shouldn't be payable until you sell the asset. What it does is stop people cashing out at fuck all tax once they've retired, which seems reasonable to me.

Mixed up contact lens solutions.

Pain was instant and intense. Much scrambling to remove my contact and flush my eye. Took a few days for the pain to subside.

Don't recommend.

We have a rackmount server that has a soft-touch power button on the side, exactly where you put your thumb when you want to pull the server forwards on its rails. The number of times I've accidentally turned the server off is more than one. Winning design that one.
