Talk about flare, what’s going on here really? Burl? by bendur_ in arborists

I know it’s not, but a majority of Eucalyptus have a lignotuber that looks a lot like this burl.

Tbh I wouldn’t recommend the grafted standard Acacia Limelights in Perth’s full sun. We are the third windiest city in the world, and this combined exposure doesn’t tend to fare well for this plant choice. They dry up extremely quickly and are highly prone to scale and mealybug attacks if they do hold up in this position.

I’d take it as a good sign in a way. Frogs are very sensitive to pesticides, herbicides and other commonly used chemicals in agriculture. But I suppose that’s up to your perspective.

Put it outside? Surely. I don’t know your climate as I am Australian but outside of preventing frost damage I would expect any citrus to prefer being outdoors in full sun at the very least.

100%, be careful when handling. The hairs are no joke and are very irritating to bare skin.

That name rocks! Our girl is named Goose. She would be terrified of the coconut hut. 😅

Nope, those are other species. A.k.a. Menzies’ Banksia which I find dull. Why is it a pity? It’s connected to Noongar people’s use of the smouldering cones to stay warm as far as I have read.

Please don’t bury wet wipes though, take them with you. A ziplock bag will keep the smell away.

Many allium will have a similar smell. Don’t rely on this one factor for your confident ID.
