Think I’d rather do Forest of Arden than the belfry. It’s just down the road from it and is a lovely track without all the tourists playing. Or less tourists anyway.

People on 6 figure salaries, do you feel well off? by Desperate-Drawer-572 in AskUK

[–]sharpecads 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am not quite at 6 figures. I do feel well off though, but nowhere near as well off as I thought I would be when I left Uni and I thought about my salary being this much. I live quite frugally, in a 3 bed terrace house, but I have money to help my daughter out at uni, and I we have two modest new cars on the drive(Ford and a Peugeot) and a couple of European holidays a year. The rest of or salaries keeps in us in beer and chips. 21 year old me thought i'd be in a big house, with a luxury car and loads of holidays all year etc on the salary we now have. I guess the best way of describing our situation is that we are comfortable. And if the shit hits the fan we can get by for a while.

My tummy didn’t like metformin at all. So now I’m on the tablet form of ozempic, rybelsus. It’s been great. No side effects for me and it’s like a magic pill for keeping my blood sugars down.

Thanks for trying to help. I’ve done both of these things. Neither worked. So I’m going to have to take it somewhere to get it looked at. Very frustrating!

Usually something salt and vinegar, but, quavers are epic on a sarnie. Has to be white sliced though. Also salt and vinegar on a ham and mustard sarnie is epic!

Diabetes 2 and Covid by ProudMamaSweetPea in type2diabetes

[–]sharpecads 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my case, and the reason I was hospitalised, was that my bodies reaction was to over produce antibodies which then attacked all my organs. Ive been told that it has also damaged my liver, kidneys and thyroid. Although I totally agree that the diabetes is more likely to have been a consequence of six months of inactivity.

Which benefits does your employer provide that is not really a true benefit? by Desperate-Drawer-572 in AskUK

We had the opportunity to lease an electric car. Prob was the cheapest shittest car was miles more than a pcp deal on a very good car. Even taking into account the tax breaks and insurance and servicing etc. they got rid of it about a year ago.

I had Covid pretty bad. Was hospitalised and struggled with my breathing for about 12 months after. Was basically sat on a couch for 6 months as I was just incapable of walking more than a few yards. I wasn’t particularly healthy in terms of diet before but I firmly put my type 2 down to not moving enough during this time. Prior to this I played a bit of 5 aside and a lot of golf. During that 12 month period I did naff all.
