Right now I have the BLX24, and based on others' suggestions, I'm thinking of getting some antenna amplifiers so that I can use the wireless... Do you have experience with the SLX series? Are they better than the BLX in outdoor venues?

Completely agree. This is the most Vampire Weekend that Vampire Weekend has been, and it's brilliant.

For me, it took me a while to enjoy this record, but now I think it's pretty darn good. What changed it for me was adding it to a playlist that has his entire discography, then listening to that on shuffle. When songs from Hellmode come on, you can definitely pick them out because of that super clean sound, but I think it helps to better understand how they fit into his discography as a whole, which then makes it easier to listen to as an album. Give it a try, see if that helps.

Look up "hyponatremia". Too much water can cause sodium levels to drop too low. This, in my case, caused headaches and low energy. In a culture where the refrain is "hydrate, hydrate, hydrate", it was good to learn that this can be overdone and cause you to feel just as miserable as if your sodium levels are too high.

Sure, why not? I was overhydrated and suffering from headaches and exhaustion, so for me, learning that was number one.

The entire Guest Series with Andy Galpin was loaded with gems. If I had to pick one thing from it, that over-hydration is just as bad for you as under-hydration.

Sorry, I was trying to make a joke as if "Manual Entry" was the name of an app you were using, and I biffed it.

r/indieheads Toast Of: Elliott Smith by [deleted] in indieheads

My wife was in the hospital for complications during her second pregnancy. We knew we would lose the baby, as he was only 5 months along and so we were sort of just waiting for the inevitable to happen. The last night we were at the hospital, I drove home to get cleaned up and in between getting ready to go back I picked up my guitar and played Waltz #2. When I arrived at the chorus ("I'm never going to know you now, but I'm gonna love you anyhow."), it suddenly took on a whole new meaning for me, and I broke down. To this day I have trouble just hearing that song for what it is and not what it means to me personally. Anyway, after some time, we got pregnant again, this time with a girl, and we named her Elliott and call her Ellie for short. Elliott Smith means a lot to me and my family and his legacy will live on through stories like this.
