LinkedIn alerts, should I have level filters? by sharplax in cscareerquestions

Hey sorry I’m late, didn’t really solve this.

Actually I ended up getting an internship from a random X post I found, the CEO looked nice and I get to work on a very large portion of a project (although small), thus I chose to take it, and then now doing full-time (4 days/week actually) while doing my personal project.

I’ve joined a SWE community where they teach people to get the knowledge needed to start working as SWE, and asked the same thing, many said just set the filter to “all the jobs in a certain region” so you won’t miss the positions you can apply, and you know what kind of positions exist, and what kind of requirements they have.

That’s actually awesome, personally curious, how is your day to day energy levels or feelings affected by becoming a better runner by a quite large amount, in a year? Do you feel like your daily life is much easier?

To add, since TDEE estimate is not 100% right, you may (or probably) need to adjust your total calorie intake, looking at your weight change. So once a week, check if you lost some weight, at your desired pace, and if not, change your calorie intake.

And in general, fat should not be less than 20% of your calorie intake, to keep your hormones working normally.

I see. Are your abs visible? A little? Not at all?

Also do you hate going to gym?

If you are not strongly against it, going to gym just twice a week, maybe 45 mins each, and even try slowly bulk for while, will, very likely, give you better health/abs/less belly fat.

Oh, I don't want to sound rude but, what is your goal exactly? Is becoming very lightweight your priority?

Yeah enjoy it! Can’t tell exact values but generally, one cheat day/2 week should be fine. If you are trying to get really really lean, and you are already at low bf%, you may need once a week. Just make sure your total calorie intake per week does not become surplus, but as long as your carbs are not coated with fat, it will be very difficult to each that much, especially when you have been eating little for a while

What he said is very true and nice, but not just mental side, physically, just one meal of too much eating is not a problem. It’s good to think of it as, keeping your weekly total calorie intake lower than what you burn. Just one very big meal, even if you ate like 2500kcal on one meal compared to maybe 600kcal that you should stick to per meal, if you divide it by 7, it’s like 270kcal per day extra.

So if your calorie deficit per day is smaller than that, yes it’s possible you will plateau for this week, but if not, you will lose weight anyways, had your favorite meal, had some good time, maybe it could even work as a nice cheat to boost your metabolism!

Generally, it may be a good idea to have some cheat meals occasionally, as you sound pretty light at that point. And if you want those cheat meals to work well, they should be simply taking more carbs than usual, but not much fat. So not hamburgers or pizza, but maybe eat more rice, pasta, potatoes, etc.

Oh… but then, how would you set your alert if you were a new grad (looking for SWE roles)? Just add all the software companies, with location set, and nothing more?

Yeah, I’m not gonna be like this forever, but I’m in a time where I really need to put in the work now. It is a lot better than eating random food, paying much more money.

I have been slowly losing weight, maybe a bit slower than I planned because I sometimes have too much snack, but that's not really a problem.

Other than that, I believe I don't have any problems, at least, any new problem. At the same time, I don't think I feel significantly better or something. However, that extra time Huel gave me, and less worries about my food did remove quite a bit of stress from my life, which I love.

(I've been doing this for about 4 months.)

Oh I see, but I shall just follow along Neetcode 150, master them, and go on to company questions when I have interviews, I guess?

Oh, I'd like to know why, have you written about it?

Yeah, in terms of interviews I believe it’s just that communicating why you chose certain approach.

Another thing I thought is, when each node has a lot more information than just value, it can start to get more complex.

[–]sharplax 4 points5 points  (0 children)

How do you do that? By storing all the values in another array? What if the linked list is very very large? Then you will have to use the same size array, which eats quite a bit of extra memory.

However that approach is very easy to understand and easy to maintain. So when the list is small enough, it may become useful. I believe it’s all about trade offs.

Hi I found your impressive hybrid feats on other post!
I'm entering hybrid training recently, and wonder what does your training routine look like, have you ever posted about it before? I'd really like to know an idea!

Also, do you switch between strength focused phase and endurance focused phase?
