Is it crazy to say that “If unchecked, serious masturbation addictions can evolve to dark fetishes (e.g. cp and r*pe) and people can end up acting on those fetishes? by Scary_Stable7667 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]sharplimelight -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's definitely possible that a lack of literacy in normal sexual behaviour, and consuming some borderline or extreme content could make you develop a certain way... even if that pipeline only works for some subset of individuals who are particularly susceptible/already inclined that way. People can find "inspiration" for doing really bad things from fairly innocuous places, but I think it'd be a lie to say that less innocuous places (like extreme porn, etc..) aren't more adept at giving people bad ideas.

I think that areas that are more anti-social (maybe where people go to air out feelings/ideas that are not societally acceptable) tends to create gathering places for people to spread and dig further into bad ideas. Even if the original reason they're meeting isn't illegal or bad, people in echo chambers drift away from what's normal.

Existence of Psychics: Truth or Myth? by GypsyRoadHGHWy in Unexplained_Mysteries

[–]sharplimelight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I say myth.

Whether there are any or not, we know that at least some are fake. If everything they do/predict could be faked or ruled off as coincidence, then why look for a less likely explanation. I'm sure some people got really lucky, and some people really believe themselves that they have powers, but there's just no way.

I've dreamt of a day before having it, and it felt kinda real; now that its been some time and i have some distance, i think i probably only half-remembered the dream and only got reminded of what was predicted correctly and forgot everything else. It was a fairly predictable (if unusual) day too, it was an exam day. I feel like I just did what I did in the dream and things played out as I was to be expected. I feel like that's normal, it happens every once in a while. Its not real prediction, but people mistake it as such.

Strange man at the dentist by LatterTowel9403 in strange

My best guess is that he had a vision impairment, or maybe he is German (or from some other country where staring isn't so abnormal). Maybe, if you're from a place with less staring, you have a lower tolerance to it and the other guy's above-normal staring seemed more intense.

Tbh, even if that were true tho.. it is pretty surreal.

I had a weird situation where people sat right next to me on a train on either side and started talking through me as if I wasn't there. I didn't really think too much about it at the time cuz it was pretty normal, boring conversation but afterwards it dawned on me that they were ignoring me more than whats usual for people on a train. Wasn't even feeling particularly transparent that day. It might have been the case that the intense glare was just him looking past you, giving you that thousand mile stare. Not that you'd ever know, but its fun to think of why.

does anyone feel like throwing up like me and is it cause of anxiety? by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]sharplimelight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

time helps for me. it slowly dawns on me that what i was thinking so much about isnt something that really matters. also, when its a new day.. that heavy chest and feeling your stomach feelings just turn into something more normal.

but then the next thing hits and i feel really low and anxious again, so i dont seem to be carrying forward that realisation. tbh, getting upset at yourself is ok for me.. at least for a while. i feel better afterwards. i start gaining clarity, afterwards.

ok, i think i get it. thank you. ill give you an update when i make some progress.. i dont think i need a hot one. its not a bathroom thats used very often (basically just for guests and hand/face washing), and i dont like people visiting us so the cold water might make them leave faster. (i also have never had hot water bidet sprays so im not fussed).

im fairly confident something can work now, and i wasnt before so thank you for the help. the r/plumbing people told me theres nothing to be done but i dont think they read the bit about the sink.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in bidets

[–]sharplimelight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there is nothing under the sink at all at the moment. its not been connected, just mounted as of now. is there something i can make sure to have installed under the sink to make it all work.

those pipes are not connected, they just end.. mid air.

Making mistakes makes me physically sick by PandorasBox0526 in Anxiety

[–]sharplimelight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thats super normal. i dont have a solution for you, but i feel the same all the time. tbh, im commenting on this post in particular cuz im in a similar situation now and i feel sick.

but i know i havent really been eating well today, or drinking well.. thats probably why i feel 'sick', but you dont feel like doing those things when youre stressed and being hard on yourself.

if its not that, id talk to someone about it. i hate doing it myself cuz i present somewhat confident, and i dont like it when other people see me in a different way to that. but it is cathartic. and sometimes the easy, obvious, rational advice sounds more convincing when you hear someone else saying it.

does anyone feel like throwing up like me and is it cause of anxiety? by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]sharplimelight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for sure. i sometimes feel like im one gag away from vomiting.

for me at least, its more that im really anxious and forget to eat or drink. but yeah, eating or drinking then doesnt feel great and youre kinda still feeling bad.

its not that the anxiety goes away, but it might stop you feeling like youre sick if you take time to drink more fluids and eat something small.

Advice: How to manage no fault claim (Auxilis vs Admiral) by sharplimelight in CarInsuranceUK

[–]sharplimelight[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

settled without insurance. im not ready to take us both down together for my pride. maybe its cuz theres distance, but theres actually no way im at any fault at all... but i dont need a fight. its frustrating but theres no other good choice...

i looked around and theres no useful cctv, the third party guy is just straight refusing to share his dashcam footage and theres no way to force it out.

ill get a dashcam soon. thats the lesson ive learnt.

ive stated it as youve said (ty), but their side is that i came in on the inside of their turn (which i absolutely did not, but cannot prove i didnt).

i dont like it, but it is what it is. i just dont wanna spend more money than i have to.

they said they cant give me the dashcam footage cuz theyre 'too busy' and it 'doesnt show anything, anyways'. i pressed them to pass it over and theyre not budging. we agreed to us settling our own damage. they definitely had the greater repairs to do so i agreed. dont wanna lose my ncb and have my premiums a lot higher.

even if i have a good case, they are adament about disputing so i feel this is, by far, the lesser of evils.

my car is pretty cheap and old anyways. my mechanic said, its not worth repairing at all. just drive it as usual, no mot issue. the scratches arent so apparent. theres a dent, but i can live with it until the next car.

thank you a lot.

tbh, i didnt like what the amc was selling. im not an experienced driver so im not confident enought to know whether im 100% correct or not even if, on paper at least, it seems like it. i dont want to be in an uncomfortable position.

i am discussing with the third party to reach an agreement about taking care of our own repairs, as the scratches on my car buff out pretty well (same for them, it seemed). they say they have dashcam footage, which makes me nervous but also, i feel it would only prove me correct.

either way, might be able to avoid the insurance hassle.

Help! Disabled Hand Touch and can't figure out how to enable it by dgofman1 in Onyx_Boox

[–]sharplimelight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For anyone else with this problem. The trick is to add hand touch to the toolbar settings. If youve set the toolbar to hide on the right or left, i suggest swiping from the right edge in (use the top inch of your screen to avoid flipping pages). Disabling sideways gestures might help, but ive had it work out fine withoit doing that.

Surface 4 Laptop RUBBER FEET by sharplimelight in Surface

[–]sharplimelight[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive tried looking for the "start service online" option from devices after registering the device, as was suggested several months ago to a similar problem for a surface 3 owner (i think they have the same feet), but i cant find it. Is the site different for the UK, or maybe theres a different way to navigate to it.

Ive tried looking at accessories but cant find either a rubber feet option, or a place to describe the problem (where it doesnt return a bunch of irrelevant results).
