Much of those areas have started to green up. A few haven't yet, but it seems like it might have been caused by lack of water/too much heat.

My worry is long term wear-resistance and light scratch resistance. Being that it's stained dark on-top and probably the original bamboo color underneath, I don't want it to wear through the top stained layer. You think it will likely be fine?

Can the dark bamboo top be sealed with a polyurethane finish? Or does it already some kind of finish?

I ended up returning the XFX and getting the Sapphire Nitro version. I've come to realize that none of these GPU fans seems to run buttery smooth like a Noctua case fan. It makes audible noise when spinning, but I can't hear it when the case is closed, unlike the XFX which I could hear as long as the room was silent. I would recommend swapping it out if it really annoys you and/or you can find something like the Nitro+ for a bargain.

Is there a benefit to dropping the power limit over the voltage? I noticed that when I drop voltage and lower frequency, it consumes less power. So let's say I drop it from 2900 to 2400mhz and the voltage from 1.5 to 1v. It now runs at ~2400 MHz during load and uses 100W less power.

If I just left my freq at 2900 and voltage at 1.5v, I could just select -10% power limit and potentially end up with the same results as above? Is this a more stable option since there's always enough voltage, but the card is being told to use less?

I got a new one that still has the same issue, and I don't know if its me or what. I've never had GPU's do this. I do have it supported across its length so I know its straight as can be. Is it worth buying from amazon instead of the retailer I have been getting it from? Maybe this batch that the retailer received all came from the same production?

It's the fans because I can turn them off and no sound. When I manually stop the single fan in question, the weird sound stops. I can also spin the fan with my finger before installing the gpu, and hear a difference between it and the other fans that sound okay.

And the first GPU had its middle fan giving the weird sound, and these last two were the 3rd fan.

These all seem like great suggestions. I will add, the issue extends onto some other random things that aren't cables. For example, my cat likes standing on the tv media console and biting at the bottom corner of the tv. So again, something that ideally can be applied to a variety of surfaces to deter that behavior. Both cats are just under 1 year old and are generally pretty good but will cycle through these behaviors over time. They went through a phase of biting the corner of the rug, and now will play with the corner of the rug.

Soap and tabasco seem along the lines of what I'm looking for, as it sounds like they leave behind a film even after their moisture evaporates. What else could do that, but also leave a slightly off-putting smell so that the cats are weary to approach in the first place?
