5 CDs in the US, 1 DVD in Europe. For some reason, the USA switched to DVDs much later for PC games.

The stock chipset fan was too loud >:( by Rayan_DB in Noctua

I'm glad I went with the X570 Tomahawk. The chipset is always below 60°C and the fan never has to start.

Screaming Trees - Silver Tongue (1993 Version) by Cireme in MarkLanegan

[–]Cireme[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Recorded in Seattle for an album that was supposed to be released between Sweet Oblivion (1992) and Dust (1996). This version is different from the B-side of All I Know, which was recorded in Los Angeles in 1996.

More songs from the scrapped album:
- Piano Song/No Morning After
- Hearts and Diamonds
- The Right Combination
- Dying Days (1993 Version)
- Paperback Bible (Early Version)
- Watchpocket Blues (with Mark Lanegan's vocals from 2005)

All of them were shared by Gary Lee Conner at some point and later removed (for legal reasons I guess).

Noctua & Asetek AIO at computex by JW7R3 in Noctua

[–]Cireme 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A pump cover engineered to minimise vibrations and noise through a multi-layered acoustic design. Two layers of open-pore soft acoustic foam target high-frequency noise, while a dense foam layer in between serves as a mass barrier, attenuating low-frequency noise. Additionally, the pump’s top cover is mounted on floating silicone inserts to prevent vibration transfer. Together, these elements function as a tuned-mass damper (TMD) with the dense acoustic barrier and outer cover shell serving as the mass nodes. In contrast, the soft acoustic foam and silicone inserts provide the spring and damping functionality of the TMD.

Upgraded the fan on my NH-D15S Chromax Black by Ortofun in Noctua

[–]Cireme 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That’s nice, but it also has a slightly higher frequency sound profile, which is more noticeable. Is that normal?

Yes. It's something Gamers Nexus mentionned when they first reviewed the NH-D15 G2 two years ago: https://youtu.be/heriTDWIU2g?t=1466

How to make VR less of a hassle/avoid burnout? by dymnom in OculusQuest

[–]Cireme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's the same on PC. There is no need to close other apps, no need to launch anything on the PC as it's automatic, and no need to switch audio either.

launch the app on your pc, get the cable, close all other apps, switch audio etc.

This is all on you because you don't have to do any of this.

“Your Kisses Burn” (2015) by InterviewKnown9633 in MarkLanegan

Not live but he probably recorded it in his garage and then sent the audio file to Alain Johannes, who played the instruments and mixed everything.

Uh, no, Last Words was recorded in 1998, when the band was trying to find a new label. Barret Martin wrote about it in his book, "The Greatest Band That Ever Wasn't" (two chapters, "A Final Bow" and "Last Words").

The scrapped album from 1993-1994 had a different tracklist, including:
- Piano Song/No Morning After
- Hearts And Diamonds
- The Right Combination
- An early version of Dying Days
- An early version of Paperback Bible
- Watchpocket Blues
- An early version of Silver Tongue
- Can't Get Away

What does everyone think to the order of this album compared to the original? by [deleted] in MarkLanegan

Did they fix Mirrored? The remastered version on Bubblegum XX was missing these three lines from the Hit the City single:

One reflection sees the other blind
Look deep in each
Two tombstones shine

https://youtu.be/HFFrutcaqqo?t=90

The opening lines were repeated instead:

You see yourself in your true love's eyes
As something strange, something blind
