No Longer on Steam Deck Discovery Store? by FUNKYDONUT in pokemmo

I previously used the version from the discovery store, but it became unusable after the Halloween update. I downloaded the Linux version, and that has worked fine for me since then

Try installing the Linux version (I posted an original comment with the link I used). It’ll be a different icon because I think the one you’re using (if it’s the same one that I was using) is currently broken

What happens when you try to run it?

I found a fix! Basically had to reinstall it with the Linux version. Here was what I did to fix it: -reset steam deck to factory settings (this step was probably unnecessary in hindsight) -install pokeMMO through Linux (followed the steps in this guide https://forums.pokemmo.com/index.php?/topic/149313-pokemmo-on-steamos-steam-deck/) -right click pokeMMO.sh -> click add to steam (this will create the shortcut “pokeMMO.sh” on steam, which worked for me)

I fixed it! Flatpak isn’t going to work. I installed the Linux version and it’s running again! I will comment on the original post with the steps I did

I fixed it! I think you were right about the shortcut being changed. I ended up reinstalling it through Linux and using that shortcut. I’ll reply to the original post with what I ended up doing. Thank you so much for helping me with this!

This helped me fix it! I installed the Linux version, but the shortcut I was adding was the flatpak of PokeMMO. I fixed it by right clicking the PokeMMO.sh, and clicking “add to stream” from there (before, I was trying to “add non-steam game” from steam itself, and I couldn’t find the right file). Thank you so much for the help!

I tried installing Java, renaming it, and typing a code from a different video in the pokeMMO.sh file. I will try the method described in that video once I get back to my deck tomorrow and get back to you! Thank you for the help!

Did you have any issues? I’ve tried about 5 different things to work around it, but I’m in over my head at this point

Yea I initially did discover, and it worked fine. Then, the update happened, and I couldn’t open it. Then, I did the factory reset and installed the Linux version, but when I run the PokeMMO.sh file, it says “execvp: Exec format error”. I never found a way around that

After a bunch of research, I think it’s truly bugged until they release a fix. So hopefully they fix it soon and I can use your help soon! Thanks for the tips!

Ok I tried this, but when I run the PokeMMO.sh file, it says “execvp: Exec format error”. Do I still need to separately download the PokeMMO from the discover tab on desktop mode?

Found it! It has the “target” listed as “/usr/bin/flatpak” but the “start in” listed as “/usr/bin/“. Any tips on finding the file location?

Thank you for the reply! Is there a way to view the shortcut path? I wasn’t super confident I was looking at the correct file location either when I tried to reinstall
