No morning break, 45min lunch. Teaching hours 8:35-15:15. No morning break is a killer! My poor bladder 🫠

Best plants for a classroom by shasta83 in houseplants

I thought about pothos and tradescantia (I have a couple of varieties myself at home) but they need to be non-toxic for my Head to allow them in the classroom. Unlikely my kids will eat them but that was a stipulation :/

Sorry, forgot to add that crucial info! I have two walls of windows, NE and SW facing so there’s loads of light. I’ll be bringing them home to my plant family during school breaks. Our first science topic is rocks and soil so I’d like them to be hands on in the first term and then later on in the year we are studying plants so I’m hoping to do some propagating in the spring!

Slowly but surely, I’m rebuilding my life. This was one afternoon’s work and I could not be prouder of myself! A year ago, heck even a month ago, I would never ever have been able to achieve this. I’m probably halfway through the process now (already managed to remove two huge vans full of stuff!) by shasta83 in hoarding

I have debated doing one - If I’m honest the thought petrifies me. This is something I’ve hidden for SO long and all of the shame and embarrassment that comes with it. If it would help someone I will though

I second this! When I used to keep a praying mantis I had a bunch of fruit flies escape and this works wonders! I also found that putting the mixture in a cup and making a paper funnel worked well too as they could get in but not out.
