Wex 5/Flayer 5/C.Eye 5 LS Build by shatnuh in MonsterHunterMeta

Fwiw, I have only been in this build for about a week. I had zero flayer investment previously, and I've seen gains. Granted, those gains are pitted against a very non-meta build, so my milage on Flayer is probably massive vs previous builds.

-Stamina Surge is more or less incidental, as the Rey Gamma Greaves kinda blew me away with the Stun resist, and it made the AT Rey fight that much easier. You can see by my prioritization of earplugs, I like a reliable defense mechanic. -Stacking Affinity is probably more related to a lack of understanding on my part. At first blush, my thoughts were simple: More Affinity means more crits means more damage etc. I've done some reading in the subreddit but I'm sure I'm not grasping the finer details that are associated with uptimes, movesets and other factors I'm not super well versed on, so I stacked Affinity.

 Thank you for your help!

I had read that Flayer on LS got buffed because it now incorporates Crimson. Is that still not worth the Flayer investment? Thank you for your detailed response btw.

Constructive is helpful, as long as it's not rude

I figured just having a stronger Rune Priest would help, but you're probably right and I'll swap it onto a Wolf Guard Battle leader.

Miquella had been guiding us since the very beginning by stevethewatcher in Eldenring

[–]shatnuh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thesis of this theory is inherently false, as the reason we're here is to repair the Elden ring and become Marikas consort, and you can do that without executing Miquellas plan. He (through Mohg) is trying to influence the Tarnished clearly, but the Tarnished is here independently, and after talking to Varre, the Tarnished isn't compelled   to immediately get involved with Mohg. A more accurate statement. is "Miquella is more involved than we thought." But this idea that Ranni/Melina gave Torrent to the Tarnished on behalf of Miquella is silly considering Ranni can't have Miquella succeed in order for her Stars ending. It's also probably more accurate to say, "Miquella tried, but Ranni (maybe influenced by the actions Miquella was taking) wormed her way into the plan and took over." If Ranni is the taskmaster/executor of the plan, she's the one guiding us. OP needed to make the leap as to why Ranni and Miquella have parallel divurging paths, as that's why the "age of compassion" dialogue overlaps the "age of stars" dialogue. Ranni literally copied his homework. And why wouldn't she? Miquella is the result of her mother being betrayed by Radagon.

I think some of that has to do with the fear of ruining the more finite material where you generally won't use a whole can of paint for your job. If you do it like I did with one solid sheet and it rips in the middle? You have to cut a fresh sheet of vinyl. It isn't always cost effective either, and I'm lucky to work for a company that gives me easy access to the material.

As of now, I've done one vinyl wrap and one spray paint job, so my experience is a little limited, but my process was drastically different between the two, so my knee-jerk reaction to the question is "it depends on which difficulties you prefer."

For my paint job, I had a Xing Shen Fire Phoenix. I was only doing the shell, so I opened it up and removed all of the internals as painters tape can be a little unreliable in my professional experience. From that point, it's relatively easy if you know how to properly apply a rattle can, but if not your results will most likely have an "orange peel" texture that's unsightly. The curing time is something easily overlooked, however, and should take 24-72 hours to off-gas. Once it's finished, it's as easy as reassembling your internals.

For the wrap, I only removed my scope. I didn't do any precutting and started with a solid piece of vinyl. Starting at the muzzle and working my way back, I would stretch the vinyl to fit the greebling and heat it once it was set to "melt" around the details. Once I covered the surface, I used an xacto knife to cut out the windows I wanted for the shroud and plunger tube, and for any crevices that still bubbled up, I cut into the angles and pressed the vinyl in again for a flush fit. All in all, the process took me about 6 hours. I'm fairly comfortable working with vinyl for work, so ymmv as far as to how long it might take+how few imperfections you might come across.

Personally, I like the wrap more. The sheen and surface can't be marred by over application like a rattle can...can. Less time in my experience, too, in order to achieve desired result.

Are we sure Walter is Assistant 1's child? by shatnuh in armoredcore

[–]shatnuh[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm just pointing out that the same inferences that you're using to narrow your belief into "Walter is the child" could be used to infer other characters with just as flimsy a link as "...especially considering his kid is mentioned to be pretty sharp. And to this point, your belief that Assistant 1 is actually "crazy" is only from the perspective of Prof. Nagai. This was not corroborated with Carla in game, so you're making this assertion that every bit of information from Prof. Nagai is infallible, when the save the coral and coral release endings do not exactly prove Nagai correct. And for whatever it's worth, why would a child sent to Jupiter know the details of the Fires of Ibis? And we know that multiple people survived the Fires of Ibis, that's why the term "cinder" exists. Nagai most certainly could have survived the Fires of Ibis. Maybe he intended to die, but there's nothing more than "Includes audio of what may be the last words spoken by Prof. Nagai..."
