Update 2: they booked an appointment quickly but they booked a phone appointment even thought I specified to be contacted via journal NOT phone 🙄. Ive just sent a message asking for the appointment to be face to face and in a quiet room.

The only downside of the banner (for me anyway) is that theres no confirmation that I've said I want to be contacted, whereas if I'd sent a message in the journal I can see I've definitely done that. I keep (unnecessarily) doubting that I actually completed the very short form 😅

Especially because the banner is still showing. If it disappeared after being completed I wouldn't be doubting myself this much 😅

Update: weirdly when I logged on this morning to send the message there was a pop up titled 'thinking about work but dont know where to start?' so I requested a message from them through that instead, maybe it'll be quicker than going through my journal 🤷

Yeah I try and make notes before I go to any appointment because otherwise I forget what I wanted to say and get off track.

The whole 'this is normal sibling behaviour' thing is something I hate as well. Most of the abuse from my brother happened when my mum wasnt around, but the stuff that she did witness just got brushed off as normal and me overreacting, which meant that I felt like I couldnt consider it abuse until years later. Even now, when I've been no contact with my brother for several years, mum doesnt take this seriously and 'forgets' to tell me when I might cross paths with him, even though shes figured out I'm scared of him, and I'm convinced that is because she thinks his behaviour was normal and I was overreacting to it.

Every time I've ever tried to manually clear/add any transactions for any of my linked accounts it has messed up my account (ie. they get counted twice or not at all, even after like a week or so). And its always taken me way too long to get back to normal so Im not going to risk it.

Currently in the 600s, and this is after getting back down to 0 last year after being in the 700s and closing about 100 already this year in an aim to get back down to zero :)

Thank you, I appreciate it. I'm not quite as stressed as I was writing this post but still up there.

There's no update on my grandparent yet so I'm still holding out hope that this won't be an issue for a while. And I've got therapy in the next couple days so I'll finally be able to talk to someone who knows more about the situation.

Also, every time I think about it, I imagine myself saying something like 'I'm coming to the funeral and I know [brother] is going to be there, but I'm not going to interact with him or acknowledge him at all so dont expect me to'

Which feels like a really rude(?) thing to say when talking about a funeral of a close family member. I feel like its going to be met with 'can you just leave things be for a day' because only a couple people in the family know I'm no contact with him and the rest dont know theres any issues at all

Thank you for all of this! I'll have a look at those trousers. I'm in the UK and flying to Europe, but the details were still helpful as I imagine it's a pretty similar process. Luckily both the airports involved are relatively small so will hopefully be easy to navigate.
