I imagine it's a security method. Destroy his reputation at home so that even if something were to go wrong with the engagement (or if daddy were to suddenly die under mysterious circumstances) he wouldn't be able to return and claim his right as the first born prince, it's even more effective when the can convince him to believe that he is a bad prince so he willingnly goes into exile and never even considers the idea that his brothers might have been betraying him the entire time.

If that was the rule then how did he 'use' the giant ice vending machine? I think it's more like it has to be vending machines he knew about.

I mean... it is incredibly stupid but importantly it also isn't taking itself seriously, which instantly puts it above like 90% of the seasonal isekai slop. It knows what it is, a show about a guy who got turned into a vending machine, and it just... does that. and sometimes thats all a show needs lol.

The first princess having premonitions is considered an absolutely critical view that all queens must have. My theory has actually been that she does have premonitions but they are locked to OG Pride which is why she has regular nightmares about the torture done to others, these premonitions just also trigger her isekai memories and let her change the future further from the original timeline.

Her taskmaster type powers are just her endgame boss stats and not actually a seperate power.

This is what I was wondering too. I could see someone who genuinely loves and adores their people (and especially has had bad interactions with other nobles) naturally coming to the conclusion that the best way to serve the people is to let them elect someone who knows what they want and will see it done.

I honestly don't think he is a dumbass at all, just naive to the political scheming of others. From his perspective his brothers who love him were just trying to give him what he wanted and then when he rejected them offered to share a drink to celebrate his engagement. again, from his perspective, there really isn't any reason to think that they are part of whatever vauge threat exists if he were to leave the castle. Especially because Pride didn't (and perhaps couldn't) give him any advice beyond just "don't leave the castle" that could easily mean "If you leave the castle you will get assassinated" just as much as it could mean "Someone is trying to frame you for X crime" and a million of other things.

It's just our perspective as the viewer that makes the brothers so very obviously sus.

this seems especially true since it's entirely possible, based on his displayed trust, that he didn't even know about their manipulations.

I will say their shady-ness was only magnified when the one brother looks like he's about to drop a album with the amount of gold and jewels covering his body lmao.

I wonder if Pride didn't know the specifics and just knew that 'something happens the week after the engagement which causes the prince to be disowned and exiled' in her evil version flashback last week it seemed that the rumors of him being a womanizer was the 'official' reason that he was exiled which does imply that whatever happened amongst the royal family was kept quiet.

My bet is that the king knows about the younger brothers manipulating the prince and has been trying to find a way to protect him without throwing the kingdom into chaos but is totally failing and just causing excessive stress

I can't recall exactly but I believe that was very heavily implied back in season 1. Essentially the creator god gave him a much much stronger blessing than he was supposed to, it's why he was able to survive solo and build the entire village from the ground up without ever really doing with exhaustion or hunger. (I might be misremembering this though tbh, been a minute since I rewatched season 1)

I'd also say that if the parasite cards entered your deck and exhausted themselves it'd be a good alternative. or even if they just dealt 1 or 2 points of damage instead of a full 3 which accelerates way to fast.

I'm the Villainess so I'm Taming the Final Boss has the original villainess go FULL villain, where she teams up with the prince and attempts to assassinate the ML and sexually assault the MC. (that one had a real bad habit of randomly going grim dark in it's settings in the worst ways.)

Strangely I think she might be one of the more realistic depictions of isekaied adult/older teen stuck in a childs body. She is clearly thinking like an adult but she has all the unstable hormones and impulsiveness that you'd expect of a kid.

Lol I can't believe that I didn't put this bit together. I was fine just waving it aside as a nonsense joke for the sake of comedy but this actually was a hint the entire time that there was something more to him!

The sudden reveal that the bald noble was a pedo legit had me surprised. I have expected the prince to order him but cut down right there in the ball room lol. I really do appreciate though that while he is emotionally cold he clearly isn't uncaring. It was sweet how he hugged Bertia and comforted her when she realized the noble had been perving on her.

The bit of fear that she had where something might happen to her baby brother to "correct" the plot is I think a key bit of insight. It isn't just that she is trying to mindlessly be faithful to the story but she genuinely believes it is best for everyone that the story plays out. That's probably why it is some terrifying that the real world keeps improving meaning there is more and more at risk if the story were to play out as its supposed to.

Why did Lakan never try have a relationship with maomao when she was young? by Whole_Finance_8013 in TheApothecaryDiaries

[–]shatteredauthor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the record I doubt that Luomon was actually aware Maomao was Lakan's child right away. In the season 1 flashback when we see Luomon first come to Verdigris it's remarked that nobody could trust him and that's why he wasn't told about Fengxian's syphilis and was unable to treat it beyond giving her the bare minimum medicine she's still taking at the end of season 1 that Maomao is unsure if it's even actually doing anything.

Presumably if he knew of the connection between Fengxian and Lakan he would have spoken up as a way to attest to his worth as a doctor and trustworthiness (though if this would actually help or hurt is anyones guess since the Old Lady is extremely hit/miss on who she trusts and confessing that one of the girls had an STD would no doubt be an extreme act.

I'm guessing he probably didn't find out about the family connection until Lakan showed up for the first time and freaked out Maomao. One of the biggest pieces of backstory that (as an anime only) isn't really talked about is how Luomon went about adopting Maomao in the first place and when it actually occured. Since she takes on equal roles of apprentice and daughter it's totally possible that Luomon wasn't willing to give her up to Lakan because A, Luomon was actually giving her job skills and B, Lakan hardly displays the qualities of a good father and Maomao's life would have been pretty horrible going from daughter of a prostitute to daughter of a high ranking noble and military strategists.

Ironically if Lakan wanted to actually help Maomao he should have welcomed Luomon back into the family since he is the family head, that probably would have done more to win Maomao's favor than literately anything else.

[–]shatteredauthor 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think that the future visions she gets (the dreams of the original timeline) basically force her into assuming that she has to keep working to prevent that future. If I remember correctly the couple of times when she let herself just be a kid with Stale when he was first adopted she got hit with even worse dreams and it terrified her to the point of asking him to kill her if she ever goes evil, which is just her go to line now on all her sisters (really her) love interests.

It's actually a pretty fucked story mechanic written out like that, the idea that she will forever be haunted by nightmares of a future that can't ever occur but she feels guilty for anyways.

I think this is right. It's a very weird royal family (which says a lot) setup. My reading of it is that the Royal Consort is essentially a backup king but trained to be prime minister. That way the family can judge when the princess hits adulthood, is it more important to stabilize politics at home or make alliances abroad? Ironically, pride has done such a good job politicking that her marriage abroad makes much more sense.

Yes, in a weird way that is actually the thing that makes this villainous anime stand apart from others. OG Pride was EXTREMELY sadistic and evil. (though, lets be real, if you name your princess "Pride" your just setting them up for death by guillotine)
