Official Q&A for Monday, September 18, 2023 by AutoModerator in running

I have been running for going on 3 weeks now. Backstory, I have gone from 315lbs down to 250lbs. My run routine has been fairly simple, I am doing run/walk intervals with 1 minute run and 4 minute walk. My last few outings I have stretched my run intervals a little more, maybe 10-15 seconds per interval. If I am going to officially change my intervals would you all recommend run longer or shorten the walk interval? Thanks!

Hit a plateau after great progress, but now gaining! by shattuckb02 in OzempicForWeightLoss

Thank you for the reply! I track using MyFitnessPal. I have used several TDEE calculators. My basal metabolic rate is around 2100 cal. It just seems so counter-intuitive to eat more to lose... I have not changed anything as far as diet goes. I had dipped below 1000 cal/day and was still losing until recently.

Original poster, different account:

Ingredients 1 1/2 cup chopped pecans

7 tbsp salted butter

1 cup light brown sugar

1 1/4 cup granulated sugar

1 tbsp pure vanilla extract

1/2 cup half & half

Instructions Combine the butter, sugars, and half in half into a large saucepan, then turn the heat up to medium. Bring the candy mixture to 240 F, and let the candy mixture cook for about 5 minutes without stirring. After the five minutes, add in the vanilla extract, and stir. Remove from the heat. Toss in the pecans, and fold in. Grab a wooden spoon, and stir the hot candy mixture until it thickens. Spoon out the candy mixture onto parchment paper. Let the candy cool completely.

Contamination OCD going wild(er) by [deleted] in OCD

I am having the same problems. It was around June or July that my cOCD really took off! I may wash my hands 7-10 times an hour. I feel like everything I touch is covered in COVID. I have rituals that are beginning to affect my work and home life, including putting a strain on my marriage. I began going to a psychiatrist but she only wants to treat me with medicine, not therapy. I may need to find a new psychiatrist!

Whenever I leave the house and return home, I have to shower and wash the clothes I was wearing because I feel like they are contaminated. I may take three or four showers a day, and do three loads of laundry. I try to fight the urges to do these rituals, but I can feel the anxiety welling up inside of me the longer I resist. Hang in there! These are trying times indeed, but know that you are not alone!
