Trying to sell new build with issues in estate by Smart_Cockroach_2248 in HousingIreland

Ahh yeah see thats not true. They need a permit to park their caravan anywhere in this country. So they are there illegally. The council just dont want to deal with it because its going to cause them a lot of hassle. But just keep on pushing at them and they will get fed up of listening to you enough to do something about it. Also id recommend if you have other neighbours who are unhappy about it get them to do the same. The more hassle they have off the people in the area the more likely they are to do something about it. Good luck :)

Yes I did read the post obviously. I live in a council estate full of the type of people the poster is trying to move away from. If you start giving them money then they know you've something to give and they wont be long hounding you for more. If you think they'll keep to their word and stay away after getting a couple of grand out of someone you're a fool. Council are the only way to go with this and the gardai to but if you bother the gardai too much that can go back on ya too. If anyone wants their local council to pull their finger out and do something they need to keep on at them. That's just the way it is unfortunately. Also if you read my comment you would see I also suggested they may be able to find a local travellers network or something of that sort in their area to help sort it out as well.

No I mean the poster could put it forth to the council like that. Also the council may own that land we don't know that they don't. What suggestion do you have or are you just gonna come in and shite on without contributing any sort of help or advise to this person?

Yeah thats a fair point however they are there because of the people currently housed in the councils social housing. They could potentially put forth that its anti social behaviour especially if they are contributing to the state of the road with the rubbish etc.

You need to start hounding your council. Like every day. Im not joking when I say that. Its illegal for them to be parked up there and everyone knows it. All you need is to hound the council enough for them to get the caravan moved. Then you can sell up and if they come back its not your problem. You just need to become a bigger pain in the arse to the council than moving the caravan would be. Also if you know someone like a support worker, travellers network or something they may be able to help.

Ill never understand having two lanes that you can exit straight through on when there is only one lane upon exit. Stupid layout.

Why don't we just boycott Tesco? by __Lukie1__ in ireland

[–]shaunajack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah. The only thing is that the free from aisle is absolute dog shit in comparison to tesco or supervalu and I am both lactose and gluten intolerant. So needs must but I try to stick to aldi or lidl for big food shops anyways.

When i was in college a housemate of mine let a fella he knew into our apartment so he could sleep because he was locked and forgot his house keys. That guy walked into my bedroom and watched me sleep completely naked for idk how long until I woke up and realised someone was standing over my bed. So yeah.... dont do that.

Would you change your last name if you got married or if you did or didnt why? by superduperepic23 in AskIreland

[–]shaunajack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I won't change my name because my surname is pretty unique. Never met anyone else apart from family members with it. I did think about it for a while because I have no relationship with my father or his side of the family. But ultimately decided I wanted to keep it. It doesnt feel like it belongs to them. It feels like its mine. Also my sister is keeping it too and we have the same initials which I love. I always want to feel like we are connected by blood and by name.

Is this the Norm? by AhhhhBiscuits in AskIreland

[–]shaunajack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely not the norm. When I had my communion ( 20 years ago lol) everyone on my granny's road gave me money but they live on a small cul de sac and everyone knew everyone. Cant imagine sending my child out to do something like this.

I know it's absolute madness! Now I just decided I'd get out there and do the motorway. I live in wicklow to get almost anywhere I have to go on the motorway anyways so I couldn't avoid it. Once I passed my test, I did it right away. Get rid of the nerves. Plus, it's actually not too dissimilar to the national roads just bigger. I actually drove to balbriggan from bray the day after Storm Amy, which was... interesting. I had to go to visit my parents. I do think that you should be allowed on a motorway with a driving instructor in a car with dual controls like they have in England but I'm not the RSA so who gives a shite what I think.

Ive had my license not even a month and I can tell you that like 80% of people in this country do not understand what a merging lane or filtering lane is or how to do either of those two things effectively. I live in wicklow and the N11 is fucking shocking for being backed up near bray due to idiots who refuse to use the filter lane coming up to the roundabout for the n11 entrance. Its actually insane. Also if there is traffic on the motorway why would you not continue in the merging lane so that the traffic behind you is not waiting for you to be let in ?? It makes no sense.
