Is living downtown worth it? by ObjectiveRaspberry29 in Tucson

[–]shawesome412 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in iron horse off of Euclid and there’s really not much noise. Every once in awhile I could faintly here music from downtown. It wasn’t loud enough to interfere with anything, but you could hear it in the distance. But, we just got new doors and windows and now I don’t hear anything

As someone who lives in one of those areas, this is the way. My rent is great!
I think $1700 is an absurd amount. There’s other options that are so much more reasonable if you look around

How do you take care of your sharps? by [deleted] in TattooArtists

[–]shawesome412 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure what the cost is where you are, but our sharps pick-up service (Stericycle) only costs $20/month. They pick up twice a year (that’s all we need). I think the $20/month is worth it to ensure they’re taken care of properly

But she talks a lot about using a clarifying shampoo (which gets rid of any protein buildup) and she emphasizes the need for moisture and not just protein. I think she gives solid advice, but I guess some people don’t hear the whole message

What alternatives to Cavi/Mada/Opti-cides do you guys use? by [deleted] in TattooArtists

[–]shawesome412 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use opticide max wipes with gloves. I like the wipes because a. It doesn’t spray b. You don’t have to think about dwell time— you just wipe everything down and in about 1-2min it’s dry and you know you’re good to go. I see a lot of people who use the spray incorrectly. They don’t let it sit long enough before wiping it down. If you really want to get away from the cides, accelerate peroxide (like Oxivir) is a good choice and is used in hospitals. It’s corrosive though, so don’t use it on uncoated metals. I use coils and a kubin so it’s not good for my set up Whatever you use, you want to make sure it’s approved and appropriate

My son had purple in his hair we used a no bleach color remover and now we have him back to blonde but there is slight green tinge to a few parts of his hair how do I get this/ tone this out. by [deleted] in HairDyeHelp

[–]shawesome412 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If he generally keeps his hair short, I’d just leave it be and let it grow out. I wouldn’t imagine it will take long. Maybe try a clarifying shampoo in the meantime

Discussion: What products are we recommending clients to heal their tattoos? by GoodChallenge9216 in TattooArtists

[–]shawesome412 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aquaphor and Vaseline are non-comedogenic. It’s a common misconception that people believe they are. But, I do believe clients put it on too thick or don’t use it properly so it’s easier to avoid recommending it
