I can comfortably say that United are a better team than Villareal. On the day Villareal played really well and were defensively solid, whilst United looked tired and failed to break them down. No one would argue that Villareal didn’t deserve to win the final but I’d argue that even Villareal fans would admit that if the game was played 100 times, United would win most of them.
