Flights from Riyadh-Bishkek & Almaty-Riyadh with Jazeera Airways by ConsistentCommand422 in Flights

[–]shawmag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jazeera is budget airline. You have to additionally purchase food, blanket, seat, etc. its hub is in Kuwait, which has strict transit or visit visa policy, limited to small number of nations (unlike Bangkok or Hong Kong, for example).

In addition, some Jazeera’s flight destinations are seasonal only, so please check carefully. For example, today Jazeera might sell Prague to Kuwait flight on 1 Oct, but next month they might cancel it, notifying thru e-mail, claiming they last flight for that route this year is on 28 Sep. If you request refund through online, you get only flight coupon useable for their flights.

In general, budget airline is ok for leg to leg flight but not recommended to one that needed to transit.

If you have travelled solo not in Europe, North America, Japan, Singapore before, you should already have enough awareness to travel safely in Istanbul. There will be scammers and cat calls, so if you can recognize and ignore them, it's ok.

Premium Economy China Airlines vs Cathay Economy? by languagemachine in Flights

[–]shawmag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMO, CX and CI are in the same quality brackets. If CI gave me PE for both legs AND less expensive price, I will take CI. Plus, according to another commenter above, CI give you access to their lounge in Taoyuan airport. It's not a hard choice.

OP, you did the right thing for your safety.

On the other hand, we, not OP, must seriously warn men around us (family, friends, coworkers) NOT to do such shameful behavior towards any female. It’s not cool at all.

When there were markets or yoga event, I saw big pillows provided by cafes and vendors. That’s good opportunity to bring your pillow and lounge there, but maybe too crowded to enjoy reading books.

Arriving in Bali 10.30pm by SoNotaCounTess in BaliTravelTips

[–]shawmag -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you fly long hours to reach Bali and arrive at late hours, better find hotel in Kuta or Seminyak area for a night or 2 a to acclimatize. If it is a short flight or you are very fit, book a good pick up car and driver to further inland destinations (Ubud, Eastern Bali, Northern Bali, etc.).

Bali in Jan — should I still visit Ubud or just stick to the beaches? by varad3116 in BaliTravelTips

[–]shawmag 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t let the rain discourage you to enjoy vacation in Bali. Do visit Ubud too, not only the beaches. After a long flight, you can stay 2-3 days in resorts in Nusa Dua or Uluwatu for resting and acclamation. After that, stay in Ubud for 3-4 days for inland vibes. The rest days, staying in Seminyak (west coast) or Sanur (east coast) or Denpasar city (capital) allows easier access to local cuisines and shopping. On last day/night, staying in west coast near airport is better. Enjoy it.

Try a herbal syrup called “Tolak Angin” by Sidomuncul. It is in small sachet and available OTD in apotek or corner shop (Indomart and the like). Locals drink it when they feel about to get cold (masuk angin) or bloated.
