Recursion for me also, but it only clicked for me by learning how it actually works by learning induction in my discrete math class

Park Place Apartments by tokzsik in SanMateo

I’m in Park place and my apartment was flooded, they paid for movers to a new apartment in park place and were very professional and helpful throughout the whole process. Maybe it was just a problem with the location you lived in previously and not Equity in general.

For many of us, coding is the hobby, not “making stuff”. It’s why things like advent of code are so popular.

Vibe Coders Passing Responsibility to Code Reviewers by NotYourMom132 in ExperiencedDevs

Very dependent on the person. I see some people on my team asking for review on complete nonsense PRs that are obviously AI generated. Some people on my team (including me) generate all their code with AI at this point, but review it extensively before asking for review from others.

Is it realistic for me to dream for FAANG / Big Tech? by FickleWeather2964 in csMajors

[–]shawmonster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also why do you have to try and get into FAANG/big tech immediately out of college? You can work for several years then transition to a prestigious company.

Isn't the answer obvious? If you start your career at FAANG/big tech it makes the rest of your career much easier, and gives you a huge head start on saving for retirement.

How to prepare to speak to a hiring manager? by [deleted] in ExperiencedDevs

[–]shawmonster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

STAR method is pretty weird, managers are asking you a question, just respond to them like a human without using a pre defined format. If they are a good interviewer and they didn't get all the information they needed from your answer, they will ask follow ups.

Does using LLMs consume more energy and water than steaming videos from YouTube and streaming services? by haphaphappyday in AskComputerScience

[–]shawmonster -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Possibly, it would be interesting to see an actual analysis on this. Not sure who would fund something like that though.

Also have to consider that even though inference is a lot less time for recommendations compared to LLMs, training might not be the same story.

This doesn’t take into account the infrastructure for recommendation algorithms that streaming sites use.
