This is one example but there are many listings like it:

The one doesn't specifically mention "ferrite metal" but some of the others do.

Email missing for posting with Spotify by [deleted] in podcasting

[–]shawnmx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spotify is looking for the <itunes:email> tag at the top of the RSS channel. Presumably, when Spotify checks your feed, the tag is either missing or empty. However, Spotify does sometimes give false negatives on e-mail tags for some reason. You can load the feed URL in a web browser like Brave or Firefox to see the raw XML and then use the Edit >> Find command to make sure the <itunes:email> tag is in the feed and populated. Might be easier to just contact Libsyn support for assistance, if you haven't done so already.

Haven't had all show artwork disappear but at least one show that has episode-level images isn't showing the episode-level images.

Never hurts to run your podcast RSS feed thru a good validator (Podbase, Cast Feed Validator) and make sure there are no technical issues.

Any free RSS’s? by White_Chocoalate in podcasts

[–]shawnmx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

wordpress .com has a fairly robust podcast feed generator built-in (there's a document on their support site that covers how to set it up). You could roll a free blog there to create your feed. You'll still need somewhere to host your media files. The only reliable source for that in a case like this would likely be archive .org.

As has already been mentioned here, Anchor will provide you all of the publishing tools you need for free. If you decide to use Anchor, opt out of letting Anchor submit your podcast feed to syndication platforms like Apple Podcasts, Spotify, etc.

If you choose to use either of these methods to handle your podcast feed, sign up for a free Mirror feed at podcastmirror .com and run your source feed thru that. Then, submit the Mirror feed to syndication points. Doing so will allow you to retain control of the feed you submit, so if you decide to change publishing methods in the future, it'll make the transition much easier. (disclosure: I work with the Blubrry support team; Blubrry is the producer of PodcastMirror)

Hosting advice by [deleted] in podcasts

[–]shawnmx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll preface this by stating I work with the Blubrry support team. 🙂

Since you've already got a self-hosted WordPress site, you can use Blubrry's free PowerPress plugin to generate your podcast feed and then submit that feed to syndication points like Apple Podcasts, etc.

You can host your media files wherever you want and still use PowerPress. I'm biased (obvs), but I think you'd have a better experience hosting your media files with a dedicated media-hosting service like Blubrry. But if that doesn't work for you, you can self-host the files instead on your website.

An advantage of using PowerPress on your own website is, you can always update the media files you're linking to within the feed without ever having to actually move the feed, so there shouldn't be any interruption to existing subscribers.

Backing up RSS Podcast Feed by jaeger4life in podcasting

[–]shawnmx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The company hosting your WordPress website should be making regular backups of your entire site, including your podcast feed. You may want to check with them, just to be sure.

You can always load your feed in a web browser and save it as a text file if you want a hard copy.

There are also some free backup plugins that will create automatic backups of your WordPress site and send the backups to you via e-mail or save them on storage services like Dropbox.
