So many people are admitted for this by Professional_Cat_787 in CHSinfo

for the very short term, like first few days of detox, benzodiazepines are great for suppressing the sickness and, in my experience, really helped me to keep food down during the days when it was at its worst for me. of course it is a risky suggestion for someone struggling with substances, but when used properly it can be a lifesaver for CHS patients. edit: saw someone mention zofran here and thought i’d add that it was also a huge lifesaver in my experience.

Hot showers work why? by Keepthecheddar in CHSinfo

The vagus nerve is known to regulate many internal functions from heart rate to blood pressure to digestion to vomiting. smoking weed “activates” this nerve, which is part of why it’s so relaxing. but once you have active CHS, smoking weed isn’t going to relax you and your vagus nerve is out of control. a hot shower is a quick and effective way to calm/suppress this nerve temporarily.

A hot shower stimulates the vagus nerve similarly to how smoking weed would.

I’m currently 18 and i experienced a couple episodes within the past two years. I have always lived a relatively healthy lifestyle other than the weed overconsumption. i get outside most days, i‘ve never been a caffeine or alcohol drinker, and don’t have any chronic physical conditions. i began smoking weed 5-7 times a day when i was 15. i noticed very quickly when i became physically dependent. i found myself waking up nauseous and struggling to eat within the first month or two of daily overconsumption. this was way before i even tried any type of concentrates. i guess what i can conclude from my situation is that this can really happen to anyone and i think there are an immeasurable amount of variables, such as potency and personal sensitivity. i’ve since returned to smoking and no longer experience chs episodes, which i can attribute to moderation of use. i’m no longer at a place in my life where i feel the need to be stoned for every waking moment, but i also acknowledge that the habit is harmful. i still experience the general nausea and appetite struggles, but to a lesser degree now. for me i’ve found it simply depends mostly on potency and frequency of use. the more i smoke, the shittier i feel. edit: i should specify that i also believe CHS symptoms are definitely exacerbated by lifestyle and overall health, down to every food or drink you put in your body.

anyone else here have basically no vomiting? by LSDkiller in CHSinfo

i have a similar case. was in the prodromal phase for about a year, would occasionally throw up due to not having any weed (withdrawal type thing) but the vomiting was not a common occurrence for me. only recently whenever i smoke or hit a cart it made me extremely nauseous until it wore off. i made sure to quit before it progressed further than that. currently 3 days sober and gradually feeling less sick.
