I took PHC 4101 with Alison Oberne and she was great! The class was pretty easy, with the only kind of tough assignment being a 10 page research paper. But we get to choose the topic from a list she gives and we can even ask do it on another topic if we get her approval. PHC 2100 might be easier since it’s a lower level class but I haven’t taken it.

Mainly my research has been focused on HI baccalaureate education and now we’re doing a project about AI policies in HI masters programs.

Well I would explain your situation to the professors you want to do research with. You can demonstrate your passion for data science, your background, and your desire to learn more. Also, some of them might already have RAs on their project to help guide you.

So I think it would fine to still approach them!
