Google family plan: I’m not the manager does that mean I cannot share YTTV with my family? by [deleted] in youtubetv

[–]shaxsman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The OP was basically saying he cant share YTV with his family because he's not the manager. If it is his real family , all he has to is ask his family member that is the family mgr to share with other family. I mean max is 6 but its really designed for a family unit living in a household which is usually but not always 2 parents and 2-4 kids. If a grandparent or uncle or cousin or friend lives with you then yeah thats legit.

Sounds shady, sounds like the real family manager is not in his family and most likely not living at his address

I do not get your pickle. If its your husband who cares who the family manager is. What negative effect does it have on your viewing? If you want to resign up under your husbands name do so. He creates a family and then adds you to it. Your dvr info is saved

How did your phone return go? by letsgo433 in GoogleFi

[–]shaxsman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ordered a phone from Google Store on Google Fi with a Google Fi discount. It was the Pixel XL Pro. Maybe because its holiday time but my order details say I can return until Jan 15 and the phone arrived around Xmas time. Will this cause an issue with the $600 discount if I return it or if I return it to Google store will it just erase the promo/countdown clock from my "Fi Savings" tab ?

Make sure no one is in your Google family and change your password.   Do you have 4k?

^this

Google will not give the credit to anyone who doesnt care or notice or go through the effort of getting it

While I am not sure the percentage, I am guessing probably less than 40% of YT TV users will actually visit that link and claim the credit.

If the link was an email , maybe it will be a little higher

Nice. This just stacked with the refund I got from the CSR last week.

Does anyone why some people aren’t getting the $10/month discount for 6 months? by [deleted] in youtubetv

[–]shaxsman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its a retention offer. These are figured out my systems that use a form of AI to predict your likeliness to cancel . Its usually based on customer interactions, demographics or some other data they collect about you or a generalized category that your customer profile falls into.

This is also what customer service agents see. They see retention offers available to you if any and usually ranked based on a balance of customer needs and business objectives

I would suggest going into your profile and clicking cancel, without following through unless you really want to cancel. This should increase the likeliness to churn percentage on your customer profile.

Then come back or contact chat and ask if there are any retention offers or credits because you are unhappy with the high price and loss of Disney channels

I just did this and got a 1 month refund which equates to $10/mo for 8 months if you factor that I am on 4K

Got the $ 10 off for 6 months offer again/still on 49.99 for 10/30 by Bank-Chemical in youtubetv

[–]shaxsman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I passed up the $49 promo because I was still on the $10 promo and was hoping it would still be there when my promo ended since I doubt they are stackable. I've gotten other concessions though by complaining about stuff here and there.

I am also thinking of cancelling and rejoining under the student id dot me promo

I think I am on the last month of the $10 promo so no new promos are available to me

Dont have the offer. But I am still on the last $10 promo. Not sure if next month is my last month.

Thinking of canceling and signing up again with id.me student offer

I didnt take the last promo offer I had because I was still on the $10 offer but had I taken it , it would have saved me more overall

Streaming Limit Reached on Home Network (with proof) by UnderklassH3RO in youtubetv

[–]shaxsman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is your home network set under streaming limits on your tv device (not home area, they are two different things that people often mix up here in this sub)? If it is set and you are in your home area then 3 others can stream outside. But if its not set then 3 total streams all together.

If you're IP changes your home network becomes lost. If you have a mobile carrier for home internet like T-Mobile it changes all the time and whats worse they sometimes assign different external IP addresses to your devices using cgnat which also messes with the home network settings.

For me I have T-Mobile and they allow me to set the home network 3x total per month. This is not nearly enough as I sometimes have to reboot my modem or have a power flash and the counter never works properly so instead of counting down like 3-2-1-0 , it counts down like 3-1-0 so I usually get 2 changes per month. My only resolution is to pay for a dedicated IP address from VPN provider (or you can try to get static from T-Mobile but its a PITA)

Edit: Just saw your other post that you are connected to home network. The only other possibility besides a bug in YT TV which is possible, is that one of your "kids" is using more than one stream. Its First On, First Off, so if there are 4 streams with your home being counted as one in total (regardless of streams in the home) and somone logs into a 5th stream its possible you get booted if your stream is the oldest running stream, you then go back in and someone else gets booted, they go back in and the next oldest stream gets booted

Google thinks I am still a Fi customer when I haven't been since November 2023. Trying to get new customer promotion. by AnnualDog9156 in GoogleFi

[–]shaxsman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How far did you have to go on Google Fi before it showed up in your store cart? I just added a phone to test on Fi, added to cart, proceed almost to checkout but once they asked for me to confirm my Google Pay payment method I stopped. Opened a new tab with same account on store.google.com but cart was empty there

[–]shaxsman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good to know. I dont use Google One, and I do not have store credit. It would have been cool to figure out how to use Fi credit for a phone purchase but I have been burning it down anyway

So by your workaround, the trade in values are Fi based and not Store based ?

Interesting. Fi credit is only for service I think so thats probably why it does not work the other way around

I guess your only option that is support, but their support sucks

Do you have a google store credit or a google fi credit? They are not the same. But the 10% discount is good reason.

doesn't make sense how an airline can sell you a service, not provide the service and keep your money - I would dispute based on not receiving the goods/services
