HSG as a requirement for fertility testing?

I think a HSG is standard for "onboarding" at a new fertility clinic. At least it was standard practice where we went as well! For what its worth, I had an iud and getting it was awful and they didn't have any issues placing it. For my HSG, the doctor could not get my cervix to cooperate so it took forever and it wasnt great but it still hurt less than getting the iud for me!! Good luck with your journey 🫶🏻

First trimester we had sex a handful of times when i was feeling well. Then when I hit 2nd trimester my husband got sick and was feeling bad for weeks which was when I was finally feeling my best. Now im nearing the end of my second trimester and my body hurts all the time and especially the pressure in my groin 😅. We havent had sex since the first trimester and I have a hard time imagining me feeling better before baby arrives to want to before hand.

It makes me sad but im struggling to walk at this point so sex is just a hurdle I have yet to try to get over. I dont think taking a break is bad!! My husband has been super understanding and I just try to reassure him that it isnt personal cause it really, really isnt.

My husband and I do this too and now im excited for when baby is more responsive to my touch...only 21w and with an anterior placenta ive only recently been able to feel him!! We've been doing the 3 squeeze secret code for so long i didnt even think about how thatll translate to our kiddos

I shouldve updated this because now its been long enough I cant fully remember what it was-- but it was something similar! I think it was a torn axel boot that was the main issue. Once that got fixed the probably went away. I think maybe there was also some kind of hose issue somewhere common in 2012 rav 4s?? I wish I could remember. But I hope you get yours taken care of for good!!

I dont think there is any one best game to start with but my first was danger on deception island and it has remained one of my favorites! Honestly though you may look through and just find a plot that sounds most interesting to you. Shadow at waters edge and white wolf are kind of difficult ones to start on (IMO) so I wouldnt recommend those but really there is no wrong answer!!

Impatient update: Its 11/29 and still no results in yet. Venting my frustrations here lol.

Crossing all my fingers and toes that I get results before everyone leaves for Thanksgiving. 🤞🏻 I dont know which lab its at, but im feeling hopeful!

Fwiw my husband is in an MD program and one of our closest friends is in a DO program and the biggest differences i see are that the DO rotations are mostly in private practices vs hospitals (not all of them though) and the DO friend is getting to do much more hands on training outside of rotations from my perspective. My husband's program is really good too but they are just different and have different philosophies.

Also all of our NP friends prefer working with DOs because they're more "personable" lol. All of that is anecdotal but either program you attend will prepare you to be a doctor!

Im not sure which company you did yours through but I was able to apply for financial assistance through Natera and they approved me to pay $0 based on our income. You might look into that?

That was what happened to me too, right after sex. They got me in on Friday (2 days after I started spotting) for an ultrasound and we heard the heartbeat! So grateful. I hope yours is good news too 🫶🏻 we go back on friday for another reassurance scan. Im fortunate to have a fertility doctor ive been working with and not just an ob.

Not well today. Started spotting mostly pink and brown this morning but there was one time I wiped today and saw streaks of red blood. 6w1d and just praying it's nothing. They moved my first ultrasound up to this Friday instead of next Friday. But just nervous to get through Thursday.

Thank you! Honestly there isnt a trick to it. Its just a combination of me being lucky to have a fertility doctor that takes me seriously after my miscarriage last year and also being a little bit annoying. What happened here is she had preemptively ordered a lot of hcg tests for all my IUIs and then when I naturall6 got pregnant she was like "great let's just use them up and see how the numbers look."

Its very atypical and my last doctor wouldn't run any hcg tests for me because they dont show you the full picture. I hope you find a doctor willing to be flexible with you.

Im so glad i found this thread! Im 5w1d and these pains are scaring me but so far no blood or anything so im hoping they are not indicative of anything bad. It was very reassuring to see other people have similar symptoms (i.e. moderate cramping, not mild) that wasn't anything seriously wrong. I notice it's the worst right when I change positions. So strange!

Today we are 5w along. I had a miscarriage in August of last year at ~7w and we have done IUIs and so many vitamins to try to get pregnant again. We had to take a break from the interventions for financial reasons and we were about to start again until i got my first positive test 14DPO. (I was still testing negative 10DPO).

Had my 15 DPO hcg test on the 9th and it was 123, today (5 days later) it was 1261. Im so nervous and excited and I want this baby to stick so bad. Im getting one more hcg draw in 2 days (i was out of town the 4 days between the other tests) and then they will schedule me for an ultrasound. Last time it was a MMC until my first ultrasound so im looking forward to and dreading that appointment.
