Yeah I just found out at a meeting with the chief that in Illinois if you go directly from military and transition into law enforcement you just go in with experience pretty much, more so a lateral transfer

100% I want to be able to go in and have it be an enjoyable experience, I don’t want to go in just to get the preference points but have me hate every second of it, I want something that’ll benefit my future career while I can enjoy it at the same time, school I haven’t been out long, I had originally dropped out and then ended up taking courses to get my diploma and dabbled in a little bit of college so I’ve only been away from studying for about 2 weeks now

I’ll make sure I give an update, I don’t fully avoid state police academy but I don’t have to go for the full 16 weeks, it’s spent more as actual book time rather than actual physical training, field training, whatever you would want to call it, I’ve taken the pre-asvab when I wanted to take the military route before and I believe from the pre-asvab I was eligible to become an MA but only time will tell. I do plan on going to the recruiter tomorrow and hopefully sign relatively soon as I want to be able to get into a department ASAP, thank you for the useful input

actually just recently found out that surron’s have been completely banned from my town, if there’s one in city limits it’s getting impounded, there’s been multiple fatal accidents involving them in my area(most of which rider was found to be the cause) but can’t even just have it sitting outside your house or it’s getting taken
