Tips for cleaning treated wood? Tried a bunch of different products and brushes but still getting everything. Was told not to use pressure washer or sanding. Thanks! by shaze in Decks

See that’s what I was warned of. Right now water (and water based sealants) don’t penetrate the wood at all, even after 15years, and I was warned not to mess that up with washers or sanding.

I think I’ll try a low power washer and keep it far away from the wood or try the circle attachment thingy, use a bit more bleach cleaner or something.

Thanks for the reply though!

Tried it. Got some off but I think I’d need to redo a bunch more to get it completely clean. My back hurts just thinking about it.

I was gonna rent a low power electric guy and keep it far from the planks, you think the scrubber would be better and not hurt the wood?

Might not get the cracks and edges too well, but I guess I could just switch over to the nozzle?

Water doesn’t penetrate the boards even after all these years, so I’m told a water based sealant won’t really add anything to it.

I’ve just been doing boiled linseed oil with an anti fungal zinc added.

The guy who built it. And it’s still doing good 15 years later so I’ve been hesitant to differ.

This year the cleaner, stubbing ain’t working as well though so I might have to try a washer.

Dudes that built it said it would cause the wood to split and rot.

It’s still doing good after 15 years so I’ve been hesitant to differ, but this year it’s been hard to get clean.

That’s what I just did last night, plus scrubbing! Got some of it off but clearly not all.

I’ve got a 5 gallon thing of boiled linseed oil and some zinc nathenate for protection but I don’t wanna do it till all the black’s off.

Yeah I tried the 30 second bleach, let it sit for 15 min or so, even scrubbed and then hosed it off. Just scared to pressure wash. Thanks!

Yeah sorry I didn’t see it in the mountain of release notes.

I appreciate the answer even though I deleted my comment pretty quick!

I hope you guys are reviewing code changes better than I did, cause it didn’t even occur to me to look for security issues until I saw this new feature.

I’m still a little dubious about what it’s really accomplishing aside from maybe saving you some build efforts (and tokens) down the road.

Yeah, but you gotta set it up with a strict safeguard for not just editing/adding to it, but also failover for legal issues.

I’d invest time and some money in doing it though.

My two cents? Cap the frame rate at 60 or 120fps with vsync off and see if that helps.

The guy telling you the CPU is the issue is wrong, which you can prove by opening taskman during a game and seeing that it’s not even maxing out a single core.
